Today, I am feeling nervous and excited at the same time, as I am going to get my bum length hair cut, eeeekkkk!

I am wanting it cut perhaps shoulder length, with a few layers put in, and a side sweeping fringe, do you think this hair cut will be good for me to style my hair, at home, in a 40s and 50s fashion?

I am also going to buy some hair dye, red, and I am just praying that the look I am hoping to achieve will come out how I want it.

When you go to the hairdressers, what do you ask for?

Think about what length you want your hair when it is styled. If you want to sit curled at your shoulders, leave a bit more length than cutting it at your shoulders. It will bounce up more than when you had such long hair with it's weight. You can always go shorter until you get it exactly where you want it. Good luck!

You may want to stay a bit on the longer side incase you don't like the shorter cut. Have fun with it, and make sure the stylist gives you what YOU want! And yes please show before and after pics
