Many thanks to illumin8em, who's snagged me one o'them snazzy striped Levi's work shirts — that's the kind of co-operation that this world could do with more of!

This Norfolk jacket is killer in person. And so was this one:

I picked up a black pair of 201s at the Levis store tonight - great fit!! I was up in the air between the MF Midnight Riders and this was a perfect replacement at a fourth of the price. I have the MF Chino Riders and these bad boys fit equal if not better. Highly recommended. I might have to get the brick colored ones online.

Cheers!!!

Curses; the new 201s don't seem to be available in Europe [yet?]... those brick ones are hella purdy!

I saw them at the store in NYC, not bad for the price. They come in longer inseams than 32" as well (just not on the Levi's website).

I wore them all weekend - great pants! They do attract lint, however. No big deal.

I posted on SF that there was a 40% coupon code ("ACTIVE2010") that was actually working about a week ago. I was gonna pick up the brick colored ones, but once I tried to complete the purchase, my computer locked up and was unsure if it charged my card. After waiting a few days to see if my card was charged (it wasn't), I just went to the Levis store and picked up this black pair.

I also just purchased my second pair of S&P Cushman trousers for a KILLER deal - can't have enough of these awesome pieces of gear!

On the topic of workwear repro...

I was wondering if anyone in the Los Angeles area is planning to attend this:

http://risingsunjeans.com/2010/07/11/eureeka-jeans-of-the-old-west/

I hope this was the appropriate place to post such a query...it seemed like the most closely related place, given Rising Sun's work...

Lemme know if you're going...I've RSVPed, but I'm debating b/c my friends bailed and I don't feel like going it alone (just not as much fun).

Thanks DanielJones. The rise is short for my taste but it looks better on a young guy.

That style pocket looks odd on a t-shirt!
I have a Koto shirt from last year with that pocket that I love. The Levi's version is a bit pricey for what it is but I'll eventually grab one. But yeah, it's certainly a different look!

The shirt turned up in the mail today, once again, a big thanks to illumin8em, whatta gent!

BTW, the European/UK arm of Gap have upped the ante with their new Autumn workwear stuff, I saw it when I was around town in my lunch hour:

There's a really good dark denim loco workshirt with triple-stitch 'carpenter pants' seams, the classic 'upside down / pointed top' notebook pocket, and high armholes (I remember one FD-er complaining of this). The denim isn't pre-shrunk (there's a warning tag) and it's got a lovely weave so should shrink / fade beautifully.

There are a couple of non-chinstrap chambray shirts with diff-sized/flapped & non pockets — think they're in pale blue, grey and khaki.

Best of all, the 1969 range features a nice pair of brick brown, buckleback workwear jeans w/copper rivets and button fly.

Each of these runs around £38-40. Who'd of thought that Gap could show such imagination? I've been on the US & EU Gap websites to see if I could find some pics, but no dice...

Well I found a pair that fit me today for $12. I couldn't beat that with a stick. Yes, the rise could have been higher but I think I can live with it at this price. Plus I managed to wrangle in a pair of argyle socks that looked great.

Cheers!
