G&B makes a very nice A-2 (at least in the Historic models, which are the only ones I have had). It has been my experience that you should order at least one size down from your normal suit size. If you wear a 38 in a suit jacket, 36 is likely the right G&B size for you.

For what it's worth, I didn't care for their horsehide. It struck me as very "vinyl-ish". Others, however, love it. I much prefer their goat.

Kojax, we are still waiting for the pictures of the last jacket you got. Can't get anymore jackets until you post the pics of the last one.

Flight Suits (Gibson & Barnes) HH Historic A-2s are fabulous jackets. I have one in a russet 44 but, must sell it because I've lost so much weight. I like loosing the weight but, not my beloved A-2.:(

polocoat;

Will you give Lounge members the right of first refusal for your G & B in HH if you decide to sell?

Congrats on your weight loss, I decided I wanted to lose 12lbs. after quitting smoking. It wasn't easy and it took some determination and a whole bunch of exercise above what I was doing normally but I finally did it.....10 weeks.

Regards, coffee

Coffee, yes I will seriously consider selling it to a forum member. It has a beautiful 50th Anniversary of the Air Force hand painted patch and authentic leather name tag both sewn on professionally by Flight Suits. I don't have pics yet but, if there is any interest on the forum, please PM me and I'll send pics.:)

GB historical jackets

I agree with the sizing. They run big. The horsehide is nice after the alcohol treatment. Otherwise good jacket for the money. Great daily wear jacket.

The GB horsehide has a distinct sheen to it. A little bit of rubbing alcohol on a rag and wipe the jacket in long strokes. It takes the sheen off and I have had no problems with drying the leather etc. I wouldn't soak the jacket in alcohol but just wipe it down. I tried the washing machine/dryer. 3 days left out in the rain and sun. But the dang jacket always came back shinny. Alcohol worked. This was a tip for me from the forum way back.
Hope this helps

Just put up my Gibson and Barnes A-2, 44R on Ebay then I remembered about trying to sell it here first - sorry. Item #270620528940. I certainly will consider offers from lounge members. :)
