Oh I know what you mean. I was actually searching for words to finish what I was saying, took me about 10 minutes. lol
What I mean is, a lot of older women I know and see, see getting old as an excuse to stop taking care in their appearance. Like, they're not young and beautiful anymore, so who cares or pays attention to what they wear.
I just think it's nice that some older people still do take pride in their appearance.

It seems, generally speaking of course, at that age range a lot of women just go with trends, and haven't yet developed their own personal style (and of course want to ‘fit in’). They follow most trends that come along, including wearing vintage clothing (made even more popular in main stream fashion in the past seven years or so). There's a lot of 'paint by numbers' styling going on, whether the style adopted be goth, punk, vintage, preppy, rockabilly, psychobilly, etc. A lot of the younger women who wear vintage seem to be enamored with Dita, and so copy her style, which of course is inspired by those of the past.
Just my observations, and based on women I know. This has got me thinking of another thread where we discussed how we use to dress in the past, and loads of ladies said they use to be goth, punk, raver..etc. Now, where was that thread?

That parasol shot is great too. When my inlaws went to China a year ago and my mother in law asked what I wanted her to bring me back I asked for a parasol and was really disappointed (sh..... don't tell her I don't want to hurt her feelings) when a I got a lacy one like the one the girl in the pink is holding in stead of of one with more Asian flair. It makes me see my parasol in a new light.

I have an Asian parasol, but you know I've never used it (next summer perhaps). I have a child's parasol which is blue with white lace trim..I use that in the intense sun..even if it embarrasses those I'm with! *lol*
Maybe you can get an Asian parasol, and have both!
