Sorry if this thread is a repeat, I did a search and nothing came up. I used to love Revlon Skinlights Illuminator wand, but it's been discontinued, and then I tried YSL Touche Eclat, but don't like it enough for the price.
I have been trying the It Stick by Benefit, but find it too drying, and am now on a desperate search for a really great concealer that doesn't cake or look too obvious.
What do you ladies use?

I found the Benefit one very drying too, i recently bought the Clinique airbrush one and i'm really pleased with it as i have dark circles and it is not drying at all and stays put.

L'oreal Touche Magique is a good cheaper one, similar to the YSL one, but with better coverage i thought for my dark circles, my Mum also uses the L'oreal one and she thought it was better and she's been using YSL for years. x

Thanks for the tips! I think I did try the L'Oreal one as well a while ago but remember not liking something about it, not sure what though?!
I may try Clinique, as I used to love Clinique cleansers and foundation, but then discovered Chanel foundation and switched. Never tried their concealers though.

Actually i always hear rave reviews about the Bobbi Brown concealers too, although i've not tried them. But i'm happy with the clinique one, i have quite yellow undertones to my skin although i'm pale and the colour is spot on. No settling into any wrinkles either which is a bonus!

Clinique Airbrush would be a good choice.

But The best brand when it comes to affordability is hands down Maybelline. Mineral power, superstay, age rewind are so much better than a lot of department store.

Sounds like my skin colour, which colour do you use?

I saw that one mentioned in the Daily Fascist yesterday, a rave by one of the Fashion Week makeup artists. I thought I would give it a go.

I use Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. A bit of a silly name, but the pigmentation - OH MY GOD. They're not kidding when they say you only need a tiny pinhead amount. I barely dab the tip of my concealer brush in the pot and can cover both my undereye areas.

It's a bit pricey, but I've been able to stretch out the life of this one pot I bought three years ago by using only as much as I need and transferring a small amount into a sample pot I have with a sanitized spatula. Meaning I don't regularly dip into the original pot, which is kept in a cool, dry area for storage.

And they have a good enough range of colors that I found one that's a perfect match for my difficult-to-find-a-match-for skin.

A sidenote about cakey obvious concealer - while it may be caused by the formulation of the product or the color is just not a match, it is also often a matter of application. Make sure the products you're layering on your skin are either all oil-based or all water-based. Mixing those types together will result in a cakey look that slides all over the face. Also make sure to moisturize and exfoliate so that there aren't flakes of skin for the concealer to get trapped under and get caked up. Lastly, I've been told to use concealer for the dark bags under my eyes and coverup for blemishes. The difference being that coverup isn't as creamy as concealer and will stick to blemishes well enough to last the day.

I've been using YSL for years and it IS expensive (although I always get it on ebay!) and although it works well it does settle into my lines by lunchtime. I think this is probably inevitable but I'm going to give that L'oreal one a try. The other problem with YSL is that it is such translucent coverage you can't really use it to cover up zits or pigment spots as it isn't heavy enough. And it's soooo shiny I have to put loads of powder over it (which is probably why it settles into my lines!).

I'd recomend Mac studio fix - brillaint plus there are different kinds depending on your skin type studio fluid doesn't dry out and a nice blott powder over it, I swear my spots disapear!

The touche eclat and other light reflecting concealers aren't designed to cover spots - those thin ones are just to cover dark circles. To cover blemishes you need something thicker - like Rimmel's fabulous "hide the blemish" or Benefit boing. you wouldn't usually put these under the eyes as they are heavy.

I use YSL for under eyes, and round the nose to reflect right, but Like Smutrealla says they're light reflecting products, NOT concealers. I use a body shop pan stick for spots or blemishes, nice and thick lol...

The rundown...

For undereye circles I use Covergirl Invisible Cream Concealer, bought as a temporary replacement for a similar Ultima2 product I lost on vacation. The product was so identical, I never went back to the Ultima2:
http://www.covergirl.com/products/product.jsp?productId=invisible_concealer

My skin is extremely fair & sensitive, I wear contacts, and have undereye circles thanks to allergies. The lightest shade, "Fair" is one of the few concealers light enough for my skin tone. Sometimes I use it elsewhere on my face and skip foundation. (The color on the CG site is nothing like the actual product, by the way, and I think people who reviewed it poorly on the CG site didn't shake the tube before application. If you shake the tube, it covers dark circles very well.)

To cover anything else, I use the Everything Pencil by Judith August--probably my favorite beauty product ever.

When my skin is cranky and I need extra help to cover red, I use Physicians Formula green concealer stick (during summer) or Phys. Formula green creamy concealer (during winter-- it comes in a wand-style tube like the Covergirl product). These must be used sparingly and covered with foundation...unless your goal is to date Kermit the Frog!

MAC do a good concealer for when you have heavy duty dark circles - it's not expensive and lasts for ages - I seriously have had my tub for years (no kidding!)! I love YSL Touche Eclat for some highlighting but have found the Bobbi Brown eye brightener to be very, very good.

For spot concealing you can't beat Rimmel's Clear Complexion Concealer - it kills the spot and provides great coverage.

Actually i was wondering about the Bobbi Brown concealer, i have heard excellent reviews about it. Oh dear the shopping list for the upcoming trip to the smoke is growing bigger by the second. Although the Mac one sounds good, i do need to buy some more Mac goodies so maybe i will keep all my eggs in one basket and try that one. Decisions, decisions.

Actually i'm still v. happy with the Clinique airbrush concealer, but i am such a makeup junkie it's horrendous!

I got one of MACs 4 palletes and filled it with:

1. a cream concealer (studiosculpt)
2. a cream-powder conclear (for spots- Studio fix)
3. a white/green concealer for red marks (Pro corrector in Ash blonde-green counteracts red)
4. a white/ orange concealer for shadows under eyes (Pro corrector in peach- orange counteracts blue)

I've also got a liquid concealer (moisturecover) for light reflection under eyes and also to wash over any light hyperpigmentation marks.

I find that having the textures and colours in one tiny little pallete makes it so quick and easy to do my make-up in the mornings.

I have also got another 4 pallete with:
1. a little of my cream foundation in a skin tone shade
2. a little of my white cream foundation (another MAC pro shade)
3. my powder brow colour
4. one red lippy shade. (I melted a chunk of lippie in the microwave and poured it into the pan and left to cool and set)

It's so handy for traveling- like a personalised make-up kit. You can get round magnets and empty pans for MAc palletes on ebay. I just need a little travel make-up set of brushes now!
