I always liked Ol Deano and his crooner of a voice, also always thought he was a bit of a lush and a Lady's man. Come to find out that I and Im sure many others couldnt have been more wrong. I cant remember who was being interviewed but I heard it on talk radio, it was someone who was privy to the Rat Pack and had been around them. Anyways he was saying that Dean was not an alcoholic despite always playing one and that he was always the first to call it a night. Also after every show the other members would take 2 to 3 women back to their studio while Dean Martin would meet with his Wife. On wikipedia it said his first wife, one of three might have been driven to alcoholism by his infidelities so I guess it was his second wife that he was more of a faithful type to. Made me respect him more than I already did, being from Ohio it is also cool that he came from Steubenville.

No Dean was no alcoholic, On the Dean Martin show, he always had a drink in hand but it turned out to be just plain tea! Losing his son hurt a great deal, he never was the same, I miss Dean Martin so much I plan one day to visit old Steubenville, Ohio.

Your no body til somebody loves you!!! :eusa_doh:

I also Love Dean. There wasn't an Italian family in my neighborhood who didn't have a son or dog named Dean. In my family, I had a cousin named Dean and my Uncle also named his dog Dean.
I read in "The Way You Wear Your Hat", (Sinatra Biography) that Mr. Martin prefered apple juice in his glass.

On wikipedia Phyllis Dyller is said to have stated "that wasnt tea in his glass". So who knows, I love Dean Martin, he has such a beautiful voice.
Did you ever see the promo for the DVD's on the DMS, one huge appearance after another, I dont think there is any other show that boasted as many famous guests as his.
