Hi Barbara!!
I agree with Smuterella- they're really versatile. I think you could wear them with just about anything :) Plain or printed cotton button up blouses, plain or striped t shirts, and for shoes I'd probably wear oxfords, flat espadrilles, sandals, or classic keds.
Those are so cute! I've been eying her trousers for a while now. I love this color!

Has anyone ordered from her? She sounds fantastic, and I love the things she has listed! I want to get a dress for my birthday. :)
No but I have her in my favorites and plan to order something someday when I feel rich (not that her prices are bad they are very reasonable). If anyone has ordered from her let us know how it went.

Yes, it's a little pricey for me as well so I'm going to wait for birthday money. But her stuff looks wonderful. I really hope someone orders something so we can see. :)

Thanks Lauren and everyone! (We miss you Lauren but Madrid is lovely. The only thing is that I really do need an autumn/winter wardrobe now!)

I just wanted you all to know I received my blouse from Kim at Time Machine Vintage on Etsy.

She was an absolute delight to work with. I had an idea of what i wanted color-wise and based on her garments, I chose the Maureen blouse. Kim helped me with great fabric choices, and some modifications to style that better suited my figure. I supplied her with measurements and we were off. It did not take very long for Kim to make up my blouse and I just love it. For an adorable custom made blouse it was absolutely worth the price ($65 U.S. with shipping). I sew but I don't enjoy making blouses, so Kim was a really perfect solution!

It's part of my Halloween costume, so I will post some pics next week, but you can see it here

Inky, that is a fabulous shop. I'm definately going to order something from her in the near future. Might satiate my desire for vintage repro until I stop being lame and learn to sew. ;)

Has anyone seen on Etsy or elsewhere, anyone who is doing repro riding trousers or 1930s style skirts (preferably to wear in autumn or winter) and or sweaters? There is just some amazing stuff out there, and it looks like spring dresses and trousers won't be an issue, but I've got a stretch of winter ahead in Madrid here.

I had a dress made by toprunway. It is a superb fit and lovely quality, real attention to detail. the material is really heavy as well. A real winter dress!

This is from etsy seller dixibilly. She knits in her spare time. I got this fairly quickly but my second order is taking ahwile. She is really sweet and doesn't charge until she finishes. I will post a picture of the other sweater when I get it. It's a card from a 40's pattern in emerald green.

Does anyone know of anyone who does custom repro quilted circle skirts? I've been trawling through etsy, but can't find anyone, so I thought I would throw it open to you knowledgeable ladies before I put up an etsy Alchemy request.

Hi ladies!
I've had a dress made by 'heart my closet' on etsy... my first custom made dress and my first experience of using etsy! sadly I have to say I was really disappointed... I thought I was buying a dress from a dressmaker in the US, but the dress came posted from vietnam, and it just feels really cheaply made and the design doesn't really work with the fabric I chose, because it obviously needed a sturdier fabric to hold its shape, so it's just awful, unflattering and unwearable... :( Not sure what to do about it yet.. I haven't contacted her about it. What's your experiences when you're unhappy with a custom made item? Can you complain and ask for a refund, or do you just cut your losses.... ? not sure what my rights are in this case!
has anyone else bought anything from 'heart my closet'??

however, I'm soon having a prom dress made by a UK seamstress (www.digforvictoryclothing.com), so I'll let you guys know what it's like when I get it.. but I do have high hopes!

This is from TopRunway on ebay. I had her customize the Viva dress. It came out a tad big & a little lover cut than I wanted but I'm pretty happy with it over all & I know what to change in the measurements for next time.
