Merry Christmas. Hoping all loungers have a safe and wonderful Christmas.

One of my legal friends sent me this warm Christmas wish, thought I'd share if you haven't seen it before:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible,low stress, non addictive, gender neutral celebration of the summer solstice holiday practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/ secular persuasions and/ or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2011, but not without due respect for the calendar of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that Australia is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

It does generally imply mammalian and endo-skeletal, carbon**** based lifeform but again it depends on how you see yourself.

I confirm receipt of your correspondence and advise that I am currently seeking legal opinion on a suitable response.
I detect that this message contains elements of mirth (intended or implied). I trust this is not prejudicial. However, acting on this assumption I have significant concerns this is not in keeping with clause 4.6.4.3, subclause 6.4.3 of our IT policy….which seems (by practice if not direct legal intent) to specifically limit any transferral (via any electronic medium) of amusing or mirthful content via our internet leading to any smiling, merriment, enjoyment or any other activity that increases endorphins.

Just wanted to wish all here in the Outerware section a very merry Christmas! To the really lucky ones with new leather jackets (and there does seem to have been quite a few these past couple of days) enjoy the breaking in process - I envy you the combined smell of mulled wine, mince pies, Christmas trees and brand new new horsehide - ahhh, bliss
