I have really loved reading these posts, some ideas for some new perfumes- thank you!

My mother always wears Mitsouko - I don't remember her smelling of anything else, I quite like it but wouldn't wear it.
My Grandmother always wears Je Reviens - her whole wardrobe smells of it

I have tried so many I forget them all but I love Chanel Christalle and I think my favourite for men is Chanel Antaeus - very leathery.
My first perfume was L'air Du Temps - I remember being frustrated at how nice it was but how quickly the smell faded.
I had a lovely bottle of Sublime by Jean Patou - I still have the bottle. It smells very soft and cuddly

but a bit too vanilla for my taste. Although not as bad as the modern Vanilla smells which are awful.
Now I wear Carolina Herrara in the winter, it smells of turberose and sandalwood and I always, always without fail get comments when I wear it. It's really lovely.
I have Rochas Eau de Rochas in the summer, a sort of spicy cologne. It's a bit citrus at first but then has sandalwood and an almost peppery sweet smell. It's wonderful on hot days, makes you feel very fresh.
My all time favourite for special days is Il Bacio by Borghese. It's the most wonderful, sweet, leathery smell with honeysuckle. It's very sweet at first but then very soft and so feminine. The smell lingers for months - truly I can smell on coats for ages just from wearing it. Men really, really love it too for some reason. It was the one I was wearing when I met my husband and I will always have a bottle.
None of them particularly vintage though!

I think I will try one of the Narcisso Rodriguez ones this year - I have smelt them a couple of times at the counters and have really like them.

I've gone through a lot of perfumes in my life; I remember Love's Baby Soft and Jean Nate' pretty clearly from my junior high life. High school was Coty Vanilla Fields or Sand & Sable. These days, I switch between Maja and Coty Emeraude.

My mother has worn Cinnabar since it came out in 1978, and my aunt wears Poison (1985) religiously. My grandmother was a Windsong woman.

I absolutely love Mitsouko (my favorite), Je Reviens, L'Aimant, Poison and Shalimar. And I know it's a cliche as far as old perfumes go, but I kind of like Chanel No. 5 too.

I would do bad things for some Love's Baby Soft. I don't even know why, but I have a weird but very serious hankering for that stuff. Sigh...

Drugstore.com! They have Baby Soft body spray as well as the other two big Love's scents-- Berry Sweet and Sugar Kiss.

Marian! I found it (now I just hope it smells like I remember...). I ordered it. And I didn't even have to do anything bad (other than, of course, order stuff I don't really need so I get the shipping deal on drugstore.com!).

I love Windsong. I get lots of compliments about it, which amazes me because it is a cheap perfume. Turns out my grandmother wore it in the 60s (found this out when I wore it home one time).

And if you pick up a bottle after mother's day in the department store, the stuff's cheaper than dirt. I like to wear it in the winter, I think it is a heavier scent.

I smelled Chantilly the last time I was at rite aid. I forbid myself to buy any since it was so close to Christmas. I've been itching to go back and take another whiff...might have to put it on my valentines day wish list! I'm a big fan of chanel no. 5(special occasion perfume) and Coty's L'origan.

Most fragrances I wear are modern creations. I find a lot of vintage scents to be a little overpowering for me. The other day I sampled the vintage Guerlain scents in a local perfume shop and really wanted to like them and while they smelled nice in the bottle they smelled terrible on me. The bottles are very beautiful though.

I also tried Soir De Paris and really liked it. I think I may pick that one up soon.

But I do love L'Origan to bits and I always get asked about it when I wear it.

I have always loved Chanel No. 5. My Grandmother had a bottle of it in her bathroom for 30 years, and I used to smell it whenever I would visit her. To me, it is the perfect scent.
It was the first scent I bought for myself as an adult.

Yay, Chanel No. 5! And I got really lucky and purchased an old bottle of "Evening in Paris" (that great perfume from the now defunct Woolworth's

) that still has some of the perfume in it! I'd never wear it, but I admit to very occasionally taking a wee sniff to bring back memories...wonderful! lol

I got a sample of the original Soir de Paris from Perfumed Court for my Mum - it reminds her of one of her aunts that she was very fond of - I think it should bring back some lovely memories for her.

Hello Miss Sofia! It seems like ages since you have been on FL - or maybe you were in threads I don't visit much?!!!!!

Soir de Paris is so old school isn't it? I was on the lookout to try and find Ashes of Roses but to no avail - would love if I could get a sample for my Mum - that was also one of her faves.
