Looking for capri's

I'm on the hunt for a pair of capri's. (trying to think spring!) I've googled them on-line but I'm not having any luck finding anything that matches the image in my mind. I want them to be beige-ish...fall just below my knees and to have slits on the hems. Any ladies have recommendations?

I've been thinking about clothing for the spring and capri's instantly came to mind too!
I finished making a pair from a pattern last night and they really didn't turn out how I had imagined/wanted. But I'm very new to sewing my own clothes so I'm learning from my mistakes.
I'm very interested to see what others come up with for the capri-hunt too.

I like the idea of capri's as they look so nice in the warm weather.

Plus Marilyn wore them well!

I think I read that they don't suit short people so I should probably give them a miss.

I think I read it in some magazine so not sure. I'm 5'2 and a 1/4. I don't think Marilyn was super tall and they look fab on her!

Then again I was also told that I shouldn't wear skirts longer than knee length and I totally ignore that one. All my skirts are knee length or longer!

Roll up a pair of slacks and see how they look. When I wore blue jeans I always rolled up the bottoms à la the 1950's.

Not to turn this into a conversation on height, but I'm 5 foot even and wear capris. The key is to have them short enough. If I buy capris off the rack, they look like I'm waiting for a flood (hitting a few inches above my ankle bone). Keep them just below the knee, and I don't think it matters what your height it.

Agreed! I love capris and I'm not much taller that some of you ladies - just 5'4". It's easy to adjust the height if they're homemade, and seamstresses usually don't charge much for a hem job.

I'm 5ft 2" and wear capris no probs. I agree with the other gals, just over the knee is best style for all , i can wear ones that stop just a few inches above the ankle bone, but they have to be a tight fit on the calf or else i look like the poisoned dwarf!

The Bernie Dexter ones have got some good reviews. I'm tempted by the Freddies one, so when i take the plunge i will post results.

Exactly, LoserVonTeese, that's the "flood" style we're talking about. Cut off a couple more inches and you'll be fine.
