Thanks for the tip NancyLouise, my hair is so thick I thought I could get away without teasing it, but I will try that next time (if I can ever wash all this hairspray out of my hair!).

My hair is rather thick too.. while I'm still getting the hang of all this stuff I agree that teasing is important. Seems like it gives your pins something to anchor to.

I lost quite some length last weekend and am totally satisfied with my first set with "short" hair. It wasn´t that short for nearly 20 years, I think.

We went to a metal club yesterday and that´s what I looked like.

Yesterdays VICTORY with Victory rolls. Best rolls to date I am kind of hit or miss with them I tried again today and failed but I did wash my hair this morning and I know my hair clean does not go up as well.

A friend found some Marcel wavers at a fleamarket and loaned them to me. I wanted to compare them to the ones I have. These give a deeper wave that feel more stable.

Ooo, they are sooooo cool! Can I ask how you use them…Do you just slide them in and close? They look so much better than the ones I have, and they are much better being flat. With mine you still have to create the wave by hand and then clamp- such a fuss. I think I shall be on the hunt for some now!;) T x

Hmm I have never teased my victory rolls, which part am I teasing? I just can't picture it. I normally use a curling iron to roll my hair then just brush curl it around my finger then roll roll roll til I reach my head then pin in from the front and then in from the back....does that make sense? All the rolled hair sort of fills the inside of the roll so I can't work out which bit to tease

You're supposed to tease the inside. I've never tried myself, as I seem to have enough volume already, but I'm going to try it today for a style I'd like to do.

ETA: Everyone really does look wonderful! :)

I had a rather good hairday today. A victory roll, one of Tatum's fauz rolls and some curls that didn't want to go either way.

Cue, Isis!

I'm scared to take my set out, I wanted great hair today (it's my birthday!) but I totally experimented last night... Could be an epic fail!
