I keep wondering.... they said a space heater was on this whole time? She must have had a system set up to pay bills then, else her electricity would have been turned off... Sigh. I know I will be keeping me eyes open from now on. If I think someone lives alone and I don't see them for a while, I might get just nosy enough to be sure they're okay. I did that before for a neighbor, turned out she'd gone on vacation and forgot to do a mail-stop for her mail. But I don't regret asking the landlord to reach her and make sure she was ok.

Anyway, off topic. It's just so sad.

Reminds me of something I saw on Criminal Minds... case in question was an UnSub's mother who had died long before, nobody knew and he had never had her declared deceased so he could hide behind her various accounts.

In the age of Direct Deposit and Automatic Bill Pay, it's the closest thing to perpetual motion. So sadly, we'll be hearing more about cases like this.

I was also saddened to hear that his first wife, the lovely Miss Elizabeth, also died a few years ago. I remember the both of them on WWF.

Iconic 1960s pop star Kathy Kirby has died aged 72 after a short illness, it was announced yesterday.
She was best known for her cover version of Secret Love in 1963, but during her career had two top-ten hits and three other singles in the top 40.
Nicknamed the ‘Golden Girl of Pop’, in 1963 she won Top British Female Singer in a New Musical Express poll and cemented her place as one of the biggest stars of the mid-1960s by appearing in the Royal Variety Performance and three television series.

The pics I posted under "German magazines" were from my grandmother's workshop.
Today is 31 year since she died. I never got to know her.. but I can see my father still remembering, and missing her.
So, rest in peace dear!

James Arness, who played Marshall Dillon on TV's Gunsmoke from 1954 to 1973, has died. He was the QUINTESSENTIAL frontier marshall, cleaning up old Dodge City. He also played the monster in "The Thing".
