10 years ago or more during the first iteration of J. Peterman I had a pretty good brown DB seersucker they carried. They have A SB that looks similar at the moment. You can buy matching trousers as well.

While I really like that light tan/beige color combo I'm afraid I can't say anything good about the website. I'd much prefer to see a photo of the real thing instead of looking at some fancy sketches. What are they thinking?

The matching spectators sparked my interest and while they do have some photos here they are once again just plain crap...

Years ago I happened upon the grand opening of a J.Peterman store in NYC where John Peterman was in attendance greeting customers. I told him that while his catolog looked interesting I found it too sketchy to actually make a purchase. He smiled and said something like, "Well then you'll enjoy the store" and walked away. They went bankrupt shortly afterwards.

Spot on comment. I share your sentiments. While I think sketches are a neat gimick/branding effort, they really need the option of seeing photos on the website. It really doubles the mail order problem of things being different in person compared to the catalogue. The seersucker DB I mentioned in my post is a case in point. While the sketch of the current SB looks identical to the material and style of the DB I had 12-13 years ago, who knows if it actually is the same material and not the artist making them look the same in their interpretation?

As an aside, I agree with one of the earlier posters on the benefits of using seersucker garments as separates. While I had the jacket and trousers, I never actually wore them together. They made fine separates but on me at least the combination of head to toe seersucker was overwhelming and not particularlly flattering. Combine that jacket with dark trousers and wow it was sharp. Or wearing the trousers with a dark polo style shirt.
