China Red is lovely - it was discontinued years ago, so I hope you find it! I use mine very sparingly because I know I can't replace it.

I know what you mean, my La Paay lipstick is shrinking more and more I have to be careful!
Why did that company have to go bankrupt... I believe there are still a few of those lipsticks out there but I bet they are expensive :(

My dad was supposed to get me that one and I was really excited about it but my dad didn't know that you're supposed to open those two-tube packages to check that what it says on the outside, is also what you'll find inside. Instead I got Love That Pink which is a nice yellow based pink that suits me quite well but I really wanted Fire And Ice. I'm a medium-dark olive.

Well, I hope you can get your hands on some Fire and Ice eventually! I am light-medium olive myself, and I've found it quite flattering.

I went to the Mac store today to buy their famous Ruby Woo and I wasn't disappointed. Beautiful mat red. The sales girl told me Dita von Teese wears it too. And it was a lot cheaper than the Chanel lipsticks. I'm a happy camper!

I still really want to try some Illamasqua red lippies. Too bad they don't ship here! :(

Perhaps i is just me being unobservant before, but surely you couldn't get samples from Besame a litle while ago? Well, you can now, there is even a little product icon just for it. I'm very tempted- I have heard so much good about their lipstick, even if the price is high. And just because of that I haven't ordered any- i would be awful to buy a lipstick you didn't like for that price.

For the record, Mac's Ruby Woo doesn't suit me! My favorite red lippy is Bésame's Bésame Red, a perfect true red. It's the red I wear when I'm in the mood for RED, not pink, brown, berry or orange. Bésame Red goes with everything, no matter what color you wear! I love it! I wish I had a better pic:

Ladies,
question for all:
Summer is near (so near, I can smell it in the air)
So:
HOW do you get your lipstick to stay on your LIPS?

Hi Stray Cat,

I use a method which never fails me, even in the heat/humidity!

1) Put on some chap stick
2) Blot with powder
3) Line lips with lip liner (or even fill in the entire lip)
4) Apply lipstick
5) Blot with powder

Voila! Sometimes I skip 1&2 and still my lipstick still lasts all day! :)

It's always summer in Florida ;) My new favorite products are the lip stain markers so many of the drug store brands have come out with. I have them by Cover Girl and Maybelline, but I've also heard good reviews of the Revlon stains. They. Stay. Put. No bleeding or smearing. I apply carefully, blot, and touch up any blotchiness. Let dry (these are water soluble instead of oil based), and slap some chapstick on over top to keep my [dry] lips happy. I usually toss it in my purse, but rarely need a touch up unless I've eaten a full meal. The stain I wore Wed night lasted through three hours of dancing and three bottles of water :) They also work well as a base for lipstick so that, when your lippie wears off, you're not naked ;)

Hey ladies,

I just bought Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Lipstick in Alarm and it’s gorgeous on! It reminds me of MAC’s Russian Red, which I use all the time.

I'm loving two lipsticks at the moment, both by the Revlon matte range. Really Red, which is a lovely mid-red colour, and Strawberry Suede, which is more of a pinky-corally red colour. When I initailly bought them I thought they would be really drying, however they're not! The are really quite moisturising (and I get really dry lips!) and stay on for ages! I couldn't recommend them enough!
However don't try and put 'Lipcote' on top, it does somehitng weird to the formula and makes your lips really sticky with added clumps of lipstick! Ewww! It stays on long enough without it anyways....

Here's a picture of me wearing the Really Red shade, and also a pink blusher from the matte collection that is a great shade, long lasting and most improtantly NOT SPARKLY!!! :)

..and thank you too!

I'll try both of those (if I manage to find lip stain here).. lol
