My first VS was steel, the most recent was blue smoke. I have to tell ya, the blue smoke is a great color.

I'm with you on the blue smoke Bart. The added bonus is it almost feels like a light weight felt. Very accommodating when creasing. My first was blue smoke but it's not like I wouldn't have gotten around to it in a later choice. My VS's are 1 through 4 in head time with never a regret in felt choices.

The bleaching of the felt body before dying it for the lighter colors makes the felt lighter. If you have a Blue Smoke in ArtLite, it is like an ultra lightweight felt....

I have both granite and blue smoke. Granite is a brown-grey and blue smoke is a blue-grey. Both are great hats, but granite doesn't look quite right with navy. And it's not that dark. I have a picture of both in the Art Fawcett Family Photo thread.

I'd vote for the Blue Smoke too. But you're the one that has to be happy with your selection.

Would Blue Smoke be a summer color? I just showed the color samples to my 5 year old. W/O any coaching, he picked Blue Smoke!

You're right, granite isn't the color for navy. Go steel for a darker color appropriate for fall/winter, or blue smoke lightweight for spring summer. I have both and that's how I tend to wear them. The steel is a tad darker than granite but it does have some blue tones. Otherwise, I'd have a tough time choosing. Of course, what you really need to do is get both!

Well I decided to go for the Blue Smoke and Black Fedoras. The Conforming tools is packed up and will be taking its trip back home. I cant wait. Im going to be talking to Art tomorrow, but I just wanted to know..what is the usual turn around time on the hats? It will be nice to have a proper fitting Fedora after all these years
