I've ordered another shirt weight plaid wool cap from Carol, after buying a brand new Pendleton wool shirt on ebay for $35. I really like the Pendleton shirt weight wool - it has a smooth, waxy feel to it. It's lighter in weight than the heather and herringbone wools, but quite stiff, being a tightly woven, true worsted fabric. It holds it shape almost as well as the grey heather and perhaps drapes a little better.

My new cap from Hat People!

I wanted something stiffer than the linen but not as warm as wool.
When I saw the wiser hatter's cap I knew I wanted a denim cap too but not blue, than kind of blue don't go with my skin tone.
So I ask Carol to find me a tan denim and here the result !!!

I love the lining!

Cool like the tan deim cap. A version of my blue cap in tan. Same full cut cap which is a great cut of a cap.

Very nice, at first I thought the pic was your linen cap. I like that they'll work with you like this and get what you want done! A bargain if there ever was for a "custom" product!

I found 20 deadstock caps from the 1930s-WWII time frame at an antique store today. I only bought the one.

Great V for Victory graphic with English bulldog, union jack and the flags of the Royal Navy and RAF.

They're all in the 6-1/2 to size 7 range. So if anyone's interested in a sight unseen deadstock cap, I can go back and pick up a couple. Everything from khaki workwear flat caps, to tweeds, to waterproof oilskin eight panels, flat caps with ear flaps, linen. Really big variety, all deadstock, though a couple seemed to have fairly dry sweatbands.

Yes, thank you....."ODYSSEY IN FABRIC" ....that could be the name of something....hmmmmm....someday i could give you a tour of my studio, and fabric shelves....and well, there are many stories to tell.....speedrx's lining w/ the pix, that is called "toile" in the trade; sort of based on some sort of tradish french sort of cloth.....little stories about brave lads, lovely maidens and shepherds and country estates, i think......

Canadian. Sold in a tiny Nova Scotian town, Riverport, NS. I've already got a buyer for the size 7s. The rest are, unfortunately, all 6-1/4 to 6-7/8, or have sweatbands that are so dry from being unworn as to be unwearable.

Dayum! I'd have loved to get my mitts on one of those size 7's, just to see if there was a chance I could wriggle in to one! (At 7 1/8, I'm soooo close!).

Saw a lovely vintage flat cap hanging on the wall down at Henry The Hatter's the other day, NOT FOR SALE. It's one their shop made way back (I think Joe said circa 1920's). Just hanging on the wall, it was the most beautiful flat cap I've ever seen. Seems they used to custom make a lot of those back in the day too. They say "everyone wants that cap".

I just received a B! Wear Brown Hearingbone. I do love the fact that it has a leather hat ban, but I dont like the shape of it at all. I put it on and my sister said it made me look like Toadstool from Super Mario Brothers. The brim was so short in diameter, although I do like that it had metal that keeps whatever shape i would want in place, and the crown did look like a mushroom. I cant wait to try one from teh Hat People. I placed an order about 1 week ago, until then, I have my two Borsalino 8 panels
