The Universal Coffeematic percolators are about the best of the lot, and make truly excellent coffee. Vacuum pots and French Press do a somewhat better job, but a good automatic percolator will far outdo the pallid dishwater produced by most automatic drip coffeemakers.

That is a really nice group of stuff, Forgotten Man, though it is a bit modern for my personal taste. It is not every day thhat one comes across new or nearly new appliances form the 1950's and early 1960's. they would be wonderful accessories in any ranch house kitchen.

Well, I beg to differ on the percolator attack... IMO it's much better coffee. :coffee:French press is nice too, but drip... *yucky*

The percolator is the most damaging of all methods of brewing coffee. It just is. It's neat to watch/hear, and it brings back fond memories, but well, they suck. Now I'm saying that and I own two vintage units. But I don't use them. It's not right lol
