Hmm, I might have to crease my incoming 3x OR like that.....
That's a great crease. Any particular nomenclature for it? The St. Regis I just sold had the same one.

Guys, I have to confess - the first thing I did with the hat was block it to open crown. Alan's interesting crease is no more!

Enjoy it David!

Already am, Alan - thanks again!
Great packing job, it took me ages to get through the layers to the goodies inside. The key is in a safe place!

Ya know Randall, I started off with my usual center crease and tight pinch and I've changed it several times since. Actually getting back closer to how Alan had it - I think the hat prefers it that way. I have snapped the brim down a little as well - Alan might be able to pull of that "brim up" look, but it makes me look a real dork!

I took a of couple of photos of my original version and I'll do more when I finish.

Lee Blue Label "Overbrook." From the auction photos, I thought it might be a very similar color to my "sunset-silverbelly" Stetson OR, or light tan with rose-orange undertones. Nope. To my very pleasant surprise, it's actually a much closer color to the Wellington, but way nicer. The felt is pristine, and the sweatband is supple, and one of those very light colored ones. I don't have many mid-ribbons, but I have a feeling this won't be my last, plus I really like the little twist on the bow. The brim binding is the first of its kind I've seen up close: relatively wide and quadruple stiched.

That's a very handsome hat, Jeff.

That is what came.

A light gray Hückel Foulard with green/gray ribbon. New. From the 50s, I think
mid 50s to 60s, Steve knows better.

Manfred-- great, the whole lot of them!
JB-- beautiful VS.

cw3pa... welcome to the lounge, and that hat is a hell of a way to come in-- gorgeous Tumwater! Way to go, Tony B.! (whoops-- I guess you've been around for a year-- I was led astray by the "new in town.")

British capper

Houndstooth cap with nice proportions...no maker markings, older looking brass Prym snap, British size tag. Seller guessed 1960s... could be a good guess? Very quiet auction.
