Was this Pinguin or some other cleaner?

No, not really. That is, I don't know for sure. That was some tiny local shop here in Neukölln but they don't do the cleaning themselves. The stuff gets picked up every day and delivered to some larger facility. Tyring to find good cleaners in Berlin is a royal pain in the rump.

At Pinguin they offer wet washing as well as ozone treatment (they specialize in getting smells out of textiles after fires) and they hand iron. They are pricey, though. I have a tweed jacket with leather stains from the buttons and they weren't able to get them out either. But they are good when it comes to bad odors and ironing.

The beltback suit is great! I am a little envious. Does it fit you?
OT: I like your blog. Your ability for finding vintage workwear in europe fascinates me. I am too stupid for it or looking at the worng places.

Ha! Yeah, my size, well, it's a bit complicated... I like the Chaplin look, I guess: Enormous pants, skinny jacket. The trousers are a perfect fit, drape and construction, but that jacket's a bit boxy, some ridiculous padding in the shoulders, weird pocket placement.Needs a bit of work. I have the address of a tailors that's supposed to be really, really good at reconstructing clothes. Still, I haven't found the courage...

Thanks, the blog's not very alive at the moment, I pulled the plug on the FL, too,for quite a while, guess I get bored easily. My main focus now is 78rpm records, and bicycles, one does need some clothes, though. Workwear is a bit tricky at the moment. Crazy rich folks trying to look poor! Zunftkleidung is not the best look either, I think, best shot is to take a holiday in Belgium or France and hunt the fleamarkets.

Ah, that's why...

Yup! That's two good suits in ten years, don't start packing yet.
Saw a white flannel three piece beltback plusfour suit in Berlin once. Spectacular!!! Must have been from a movie or something. Re-he-heally expensive... Little shop in a souterrain(?), honestly can't remember, but they had some wonderful stuff there.
