Maudelynn, that's perfection right there! May one enquire how you set your hair?

Thank you so much!!
I did alternating direction small pin curls, four rows top to bottom all the way around, top row curled away from my face, second row towards, and so on. Set with lottaboday. First brush out was with a paddle brush, then smoothed and each curl separated with a boars hair brush. Topped it off with a light spray and a dab of Moroccan Hair oil! I was taught by a master here in LA, Miss Sandra D!

Antje, beautiful as always!
Maudelynn what a gorgeous set!

This is my do today. I think I am leaning towards growing the bangs out. :p

Maudelynn, thank you! I really need to find a way to order Lottabody.

Oh lala!, I just have to remark: your skin is amazingly flawless. And it's a very cute 50es style bob!

SheBear74, your posts always give me the inspiration NOT to be lazy with my hair! And the courage to pin in flowers, too.

Thanks! I have a great foundation cream :D

I heard about lottabody, can somebody tell me how to use it? I mean, do you apply it on wet hair or on dry hair?

I get mine through Amazon.co.uk, but Sivletto.com (which is Swedish) just introduced what they claim is a traditionally setting lotion much like Glimor which was the choice of elderly ladies here for years. I hope it's as good because it would be considerably cheaper!

You mix it with water and spray it on before setting your hair. Since I always do a wet set, I use it on wet hair, but as far as I know, you could use it on dry hair too (only it would become pretty wet once you sprayed it with Lottabody of course). Then you just let your hair dry and then brush/comb/style as you like.

At least that's how I do it. I got a little confused by maudelynne's post because it sounds as if you set it, then add lottbody? Personally, I spray my hair with Lottabody before starting on my set and then I add a little extra to the ends before rolling each section.

I pinned it up before work and then...

Took it down after:) I work at a jazz club and I've been trying to really fit the part by doing something neat with my hair every day

Oh lala!, please share the name! It's such a pain finding a good and light enough foundation!

Flicka , I'll probably order through Amazon.co.uk, too. But I'm quite excited for your review on Sivletto's setting lotion. I like things, that elderly ladies use, very much!

paperlillies, I'm sure you do your club proud! That's a very impressive updo, and it suits you so well! Come to think of it, they should give you a raise! :D
P.S. I just noticed your lovely manicure!

Paperlilies -- Wow! Lovely and voluminous! That's beautiful. I'd love to go to a jazz club and see such hair :)

Oh Lala -- I agree, very pretty 50s style bob!

Maudelynn -- I am stunned. Beautiful set.

SheBear - Your hair always looks so pretty and shiny. I must say, I think I prefer you without bangs.

Paperlilies - Gorgeous!!! Your hair & manicure look great. I agree, that club should give you a raise!

Flicka Thank you for your explanation.

Paperlilies waw! Amazing!

Juliet actually, I mix several foundation creams: the Make Up For Ever HD (n° 117), with Erborian BB cream and just a little of a Laura Mercier foundation. I mix them (just a few drops) in my hand and I apply on my face with an egg shapped sponge (the Beautyblender one). It gives a beautiful glow.
I also use a Make Up For Ever concealer cream on my dark circles, a green camouflage cream (not sure about the vocabulary, it sounds like camouflage makeup for soldiers :eusa_doh:)to hide redness. Then I apply the Météorites n°1 by Guerlain.

I've started doing Lindy Hop every Thursday night and decided it was the perfect excuse to start learning pincurls and experimenting with 1930s styles. I've done it a few times, but not enough to know how different curling styles affect my hair. Tonight is a big dance at a local winery, so I tried them out again (and managed to take pictures!). I need to go pick up better supplies for the next time.
