But, as he was an avid fan of hats and posted often here, thought I'd let others know that Sam Craig, known in real life as Chuck Smith, a fellow resident of Great Bend, Kansas, died of an apparent heart attack about 1 week ago. Hi Earl

I think this is where Sam wanted to be. We tried to join up last Spring at the 4H Spring Match when it was in Great Bend, but we didn't have pictures or phone numbers etc. He and I were also regular shoppers at Hatman Jack's shop in Downtown Wichita. I'll miss him a LOT. I was through Great Bend on the way to the Larned match during Match this year.
