I made a duvet cover and pillow shams for our guest bedroom this week. I wasn't a fan of my old one so here is what I made

Yep it's a rectangle :p What your saying makes perfect sense and I will try that for sure. Love your dress btw. I have that pattern too and hadn't thought to do a different fabric on top, that looks great!

I have that pattern and have made it several times. I love it. I have never thought to make the top a different color but I have made if with the center a different fabric. I don't have a good picture or I would share it

Would love to see a pic! The bedding you made is so pretty btw! I am not brave enough to try and do a whole bedding set yet but would love to redo our whole bedroom curtains and all!

I hope you like it as much as I do! :D

I made this today from a Project Runway pattern. I totally goofed up the top part cause I didn't follow the indstructions and stay stitch around the top. When it was all done everything fit but the top was sticking way out. At that point I was in no mood to tear it all apart which is why there is that odd seam on the side :p I can live with it but will make sure to stay stitch next time!!! lol

I have been trying to get this finished since last summer, in a red and white linen print! Yours looks so nice. I'm having major fitting issues. :/

I want to visit so you can give me sewing lessons!!

I am not happy with the way the is pattern done. I am working on a third dress trying to see if I an finally get the fit right. I doubt I will but after this next one I am putting the pattern away. lol

I'm repeating myself but just have to say:
Ladies, you are so inspiring! You're doing such wonderful jobs and some of you have such an enormous output.
I usually only think about making this and that but hardly ever do. I should look at this thread more often, that might help :)

Kamikat, that's super cute and I looooove your shoes!!!!

I am making up a few shirts to wear while working as my husbands photographer's assistant. He was thinking polos, lol, yeah right! I just have to get the logo embroidered on the front and make a skirt to go with it. ;)

Just had to share... I posted that picture on facebook. One person commented that it was OK for me to update my look a couple decades... That got a big WHATEVER in my best teenager voice. lol He also said I reminded him of his mom. I don't think he ment it as a compliment but I took it that way. ;)

Cute blouse! I just ignore those kind of comments.I can't believe people in this day and age feel the need to tell a grown woman how to dress.

Kamikat and Shebear74..both adorable..kamikat, i really love the entire outfit, right down to the shoes..and Shebear74..really?? Some folks truly have no imagination...Sometimes I think people feel threatened by those who dare to stand out and be themselves...just jealous, no doubt;)

SheBear, I <3 your blouse.
What pattern did you use?

It looks like it fits beautifully and the trims really pop without being too much, I really love it.

That's ridiculous! I'm sure his mom had a good sense of style though :D

Thanks :D I used Simplicity 7780 it's a 1968 pattern that a friend gave me. I changed the collar and added detail on sleeve. The second one that I am making I am adding 2" to the bottom so it stays tucked in a little better.

I hope you thanked him... that really ticks people off when they didn't mean it as a compliment!!

I recently made both the top and pants. It was my first time making pants and I think they turned out really well considering! I'll post a better picture if I find someone that has one! This was taken with my phone so that explains why it's fuzzy...
