I alway like the deep resonant voices of Gregory Peck, Robert Mitchum and Sam Elliot. Very soothing to listen to. Great narrators voices.

First and foremost for me is Basil Rathbone. He sharp, precise way of speaking quickly is something I wish I had.

Second, Christopher Lee. The deep gravity of his voice is wonderful. It's even better when injects a bit of villainous glee.

Aside from them, all the people that have already been mentioned. Bogie, James Earl Jones, they are all stupendous.

Adolphe Menjou had a most surprising voice.

I mean, here's a guy whose name and appearance (dapper in the Hercule Poirot manner) just says, "French headwaiter accent". So, what happens? Talking films appear on the scene, and audiences learn that Adolphe Menjou has a snappy, scrappy, quick-talking, very American accent! The guy sounded more like a bookie or a theatrical agent than a suave Parisian. And you know what? It worked! Audiences loved it.

OK, these are singers, but they are voices, so I hope this isn't off topic.
STING, he makes me melt!! I love his voice......he's just so, hmmmmm........
And of course Paul Simon. Such a soothing voice, and seems to be an all around nice guy to boot.
I know, these are singers, but hey, I am talking about voices...

Well, it is off topic, because we are discussing great voices of film, but, lucky for you both Sting and Paul Simon have acted in film. -though, that is really stretching it!

Oh and least I forget, Thurl Ravenscroft. The voice of Tony the Tiger, numerous Disney anamated features & Disneyland rides like the Haunted Mansion (they even have his face there in the singing busts), Pirates of the Caribbean & Splash Mountain, as well as singing the memorable Grinch Song.

If you want a great voice, how about June Foray, the voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Natasha Fatale, Nell Fenwick, and Tweety's Granny. She's been working steady since 1943 and still going strong. I can only dream of having a career like hers.

Between Ms.Foray and Mel Blanc, they've voiced nearly all of the most famous cartoon characters in the history of animation with the exception of Woody Woodpecker and Popeye.
