I was recently at Sally's to pick up some new pin curl clips and I eyed the Palladio section and discovered that they have a Dual Wet/Dry powder foundation and decided to give it a try. I never thought I'd be able to get away without my liquid foundation! But oh my I can, lol. It has great coverage and because I'm oily, it really works with the foundation to make it look more natural than I've worn in years.

After reading this, I went to Sally's and picked it up as well. The Laurel Nude WD400 (the lightest one they had) is still slightly dark for me, but I love the finish it's giving me! Based on how much I like this, I think I might go to the local costume supply shop and pick up some Ben Nye pancake in a color a bit closer to my actual skin tone.

I am so interested to know how this stands up to your oily skin over the day. I also have extremely oily skin. Keep us updated!

I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION!! Lol, seriously though it's worked out so well. It's so much faster to put on than my liquid and although it looks a little obvious at first, after about 1/2 hour and after I put on my translucent powder it looks great. I still have to blot a little but not nearly as much, and since I've started using this my face has completely cleared up and I haven't had a breakout! I still use my under eye concealer which is the Maybelline rewind under eye and I thought it wouldn't work but I just blot the foundation on and it doesn't cake. I don't even have to use concealer anymore because it covers my scarring and spots. The lightest shade (WD400) is a bit dark for me, but by applying the Maybelline translucent mineral setting powder it lightens it up a bit. This is now my go to summer foundation!!!

*I tried applying this wet but it didn't work very well, so I just apply it over my moisturizer (not right away, I let my lotion set in for about 5-10 minutes first) and just apply it dry with the sponge that's included.

I have the same problem with the shade, but I apply my Maybelline Translucent mineral setting powder over it and it lightens it up a bit. I'm glad you tried this! Let me know how the Ben Nye makeup works out, I will be needing a lighter shade for winter. What I've really appreciated about the Palladio is that my skin has completely cleared up and my skin tone is evening out!! I still can't believe it! Lol. I still want to try the Max Factor pancake makeup too but I'm not sure if their lightest shade will be light enough.

I am having trouble with foundation right now. My skin is very flakey due to my wacko thyroid and Rosacea. Even my favorite, Revlon New Complexion, looks yucky. Any recommendations?

I was thinking about tinted moisturizer but would like more coverage since I get red so easily. I am going to start looking for something tomorrow.

Dixie, have you tried Bare Minerals? It dries me out and gives me flakes if I use it for more than a week but the coverage is fantastic, and it doesn't make me flare up. It also looks infinitely more natural in photos than anything else I've used. I just alternate it with Mac every three days or so and am usually fine.

I agree with Tatum about BareMinerals foundation, and I will suggest any Clinique foundation if you'd like a liquid alternative. Clinique is always your best bet for sensitive, irritated or allergy-prone skin.

Today:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Benefit Magic Ink eyeliner
Buxom Mascara in black
MAC Lipstick in Dubonnet, lip liner in Draw Me Close
MAC Eyeshadow in Feeling Fresh
MAC StudioFix powder
MAC Limited Edition Blush in Summer Rose
Benefit Brow Pencil in Downtown Brown

I'm happy that I require very little brow pencil since I had my brows tattooed on. :)

I adore it! I was surprised to find out that the hue fades away gradually, but touch ups every three years are no problem, and the benefits outweigh that anyway: Now I do not have to worry about my brows smearing off, and it saves me so much time in the morning. :)
