Very nice indeed, Eric. I love the choices you've made and the way Art has made them.

If I had to pick a favorite it would be the Silvermist "Weston" I believe. For me the Weston style is about as good as it gets - one day I'll have one in Dove!

Thinking about taking the plunge and investing in one of Mr. Fawcett's wonderful creations once I get some money together. I'm not sure which one would best suit me. I always liked the look of the Stetson Strat, so maybe the Barnstormer? Problem is I need to get passed the idea of only liking black hats. I need to diversify and wrap my mind around the possibility of different felt colors.

Nice family Eric,,,, I like the tree scheme with the pics....... very nice...:eusa_clap

One question though , I have a tree just like that in my back yard, If I water it enough do you think it would be able to grow hats like that for me????

Connoisseur: The Barnstormer may be a starting point, but I'll bet you don't end up with that exact hat. What happens is, you'll call and tell Art that you have always liked the look of the Strat so the Barnstormer caught your eye. Then he'll ask you to tell you how tall you are, what your shoulder width is, and some other vitals. Then he'll ask if you can provide pictures of you wearing a few hats you like. The result will be a Strat-esque hat, custom-tailored to your proportions and color fancy, and custom-sized to your head. For mine, I sent him something like 10 pictures, including the classic mugshot front/side.
I think you'll have more fun and get a lot more enjoyment out of the hat if you take the time up front to really participate in the process. If you read the many of the stories that accompany the hats here in the AFHOF, you'll see a lot of them start out, "I asked Art to do a _____ with a _____ brim, _____ crown, etc".
Just my $0.02; I'm in the waiting phase now and am very excited to see what he's come up with!

Wow, thank you kindly for your very thorough response. Art sounds like a heck of a nice guy who really pays attention to detail and craftsmanship. I'm sure I'll be very pleased with his amazing work once I actually take the plunge. I too look forward to seeing what he'll come up with. Keep up the good work Mr. Fawcett :eusa_clap

5 3/4+" x 2 3/8" silver bound brim. An old favorite of mine - today paired with french navy linen suit, silk/linen houndstooth tie, light blue Mazarin cotton socks and black Oxfords.

Hot town, summer in the city / Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty

It's been quite a while since I last bought a hat.. the past two and a half years were pretty 'uncomfortable', but things suddenly got very comfortable, so to celebrate, I made good on an old plan for an Artlite (in the nick of time, it seems, to boot) and boy howdy am I ever pleased.

I was genuinely astounded by this hat. I knew that it would look lovely, but I had no idea how flexible the felt would be or how amazingly light it would feel. It barely feel like I'm wearing a hat when I have this on. I'm glad I got my in time.

The Specifications
Felt: Pure beaver light felt Powder Blue
Crown height (open): 5 ½”
Ribbon: 19 ligne Silver
Brim width: 2 ¾”
Edge: Underwelt

Here is as it was in the box:

I suspect that it was originally creased, but that the creases came out in shipping. No worries; this thing shapes like a dream.

Pardon the lighting on these; I'm not a photographer and the combination of a light color with a silver bow did not play nice with my camera.

I really love this hat and in keeping with my tradition of naming my hats with dreadfully obscure words, I have elected to dub this one The Sodalitious.
