Sounds wonderful (although I must admit I'm not sure what a key lime is - a certain kind of lemon?)! I even once lived in Florida for a short period of time, but that was before I was interested in sewing. Otherwise I'd have built quite a fabric stash!Thanks Wahine! It helps to live in Florida. We get all the tropical, alligator and flamigo prints. lol I actually found a great one the other day with key limes on it.

I did order fabric from overseas before, but I could only afford it because I made a collective order with somebody else. It's pretty expensive to ship anything from the US, it usually doesn't pay. plus, I'd have to go to the customs every time which is quite annoying.

I have to say, it looks better in pictures than I feel in it. The upperchest is too big, so I feel like the solid red yoke part is slipping around. It would be easy to fix the next time I make this pattern but not on a finished garment. This is an example of why you should use fabric for your muslin that is similar to your fashion fabric.
I have to say I am so surprised by this! There are a few Fabricland shops around her and they carry mostly cheap polycotton and junk. I used to go to Fabricland in Canada and loved it, but have found the ones in the UK far inferior to the point of not even going in any more. Maybe I'll have to try their website...Wahine, I don't know if this helps you, cause this website is in the UK, but I have bought all my printed fabrics from www.fabricland.co.uk. They are a mail order service and I am sure they ship to Germany. In my experience shipping within the EU is not too expensive, certainly nothing like the cost of shipping from the States!
Their website is *awful* and annoying to navigate, but they are a legitimate company and very good too! I have always been thrilled with all the fabrics I've bought from them and their selection of cotton prints is wonderful, plenty of vintage-inspired designs (and most between £3-4 a meter). Even if those are not to your taste they have so many fabrics to choose from! They are great for cheap haberdashery too! I can definitely recommend them 100%, and not just 'for the price', either- everything I've ordered from them has been top quality and their service is great, in spite of the rubbish website!
Fabricland already sent an answer to my mail. It was quick, but not very polite (not rude, either - it's just that I'm not used to getting mails without even a "Hello" as a start). I must say that I'm surprised about the shipping cost they told me. It's much more than I expected, £20.00! When I ordered things like clothing from ebay UK, it was usually way cheaper. Fabricland would charge an additional sum if I want to pay per bank transfer. I might try to find friends to get a collective order, but otherwise, I probably won't order. It doesn't seem to make sense since I'd probably order just a few meters
and about the tone of the email, they are always a bit curt on the phone, but I suppose they must get 100s of phone calls a day, and it can't be the most exciting job...
