OK, here it is on top of some funny-looking guy's head in natural light.

I don't quite have the brim tweaked perfectly yet but it's shape up over the next few days.

[Cross Posted to "Post New Hats Here" thread]

HI

I think I need that color hat and ribbon, but in a MUCH MUCH larger brim, six inch crown, no taper.... :D Next year though.

Brent, that is fantastic. Congratulations! What a pair. You really pull off that camel color, not to mention the stingy brim look. I can't peg the piece of music from your photo, though. What's up there?

Mike,

Especially in that picture but even seeing the hats in person, it's amazing how the lighter color makes the brim look shorter. All the measurements are exactly the same on my two hats (or as exact as you'll ever see with a handmade hat) yet the dark brown one looks somewhat narrow and the light one seems downright stingy.

Oh that's a kind of obscure one. I have a book of tunes by an Italian guy named Ludovico Einaudi. It's one step removed from elevator music but actually quite addictive to listen to. My wife can't get enough of the stuff. That song is called La nascita delle cose segrete. The other books sitting on the piano are arrangements of various Great American Songbook standards. That's what I spend most of my time playing.

This new Tumwater Hat arrived this week - Midnight Blue with matching ribbon and binding.

The hat was actually inspired by the beautiful dark blue Dobbs 20 that is owned by Delectans.

The felt on Tony's hats is always just fantastic, the nicest feeling of any of my custom hats.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I have to say I'm really pleased with the hat, Tony has made exactly what I was looking for.

I don't know if you noticed on the profile photo, but Tony was able to squeeze in a subtle version of the trademark Tumwater triple bow.

I hope we'll be seeing some more nice Tumwaters in this thread soon!

Congrats on a fine new lid David. I really like the subtle version of the tonyb bow not to mention the kool blue. Tony lives so close to me I'm afraid it's inevitable I'll end up with one of his hats despite the fact I don't have room for more or can afford any more custom hats. My wife has already suggested a 12 step program.

Contacted Tony last night and seriously considering taking the plunge. I know I could sift through all 32 pages but to save time could some of you with his hats post your favorite? Thanks!

Just got off the phone with Tony and put in my first order ever for a beaver fur hat. Here are the basic specs
Color- Silver Belly
Brim- 2 5/8 inches
Crown- 5 1/2 open
Ribbon- 16 ligne in a bowtie design that I saw on his site. I fell in love when I saw his bow work.
Ribbon color- No clue yet he will be trying some things out
Bound edge
I am excited to say the least between this hat and the one Cane Rod Maker is making for me I am stoked to have some new hats this new year.
