"Hope this helps."
QUOTE - Rabbit.

Well, I tried again.

This time I either got a Thumb which was too small (no matter what I did) or the "Paste job" showed the entire album.

Going to ZZZZZZZZZ now, to attend The St Lawrence Antique Show later today.(with maybe some more hats)

Will try again during the PM.

Thank you Sire!

Kind regards,

Hatbands are two fold ( not just a Fedora thing!)

1) To support that at the crease / join to prevent it from pushing out to a differnet size.* Some used to be "buckles" ( with leather hatbands), with ribbon it is more so a bow.
2) Decorative to hide and join/stitched between the crown and the brim

*With hats that encorporated a inside leather sweatband, the need for an outer one to keep the size is deminished

Some hats used to have buckle/bow at front, depends on the style and difficulty fixing it - oftene promemant in Topper in C19 and still in modern Livery

For Gents tradition shows bow on the left side
For Ladies tradition shows bow on the right side

On the back is more unisex such as riding dressage hats or weepers on Funeral Director toppers
