Mr Lyles, it's nice to see someone else posting on this thread. I rather like the white silk scarf with the brown design. And the burgundy with paisley is a classic. What makers and what dates are the silk scarves?

The silk scarves were purchased over the last 30 years from Bergdorf Goodman and Paul Stuart in NYC. They bear the store tag and country of origin (England and Italy) but were undoubtedly made for them by various makers (the English made scarves appear to be Drake's).

Scarfs?

I didn't see anything in the "Start Here: Links to Important Threads" thread. Are there any good threads about mens scarfs?

EDIT: Thanks for merging this. :)

I am looking for a nice scarf to wear with my pin stripe (in avatar photo) and solid black overcoat. Was thinking white or grey.

Just ordered this one.

It looks grey but it says "Features include a classic blue plaid print and soft 100% cotton fabric. 71 inches x 18 inches."

Rummage sale today. Found this terrific silk curling club scarf. Judging by the badges it dates from between 1939 and 1950.

It has sixty curling club badges on it, ranging all over Canada and the U.S.

For me, this is the Holy Grail of Tootal scarves.

At first glance, it's a normal paisley pattern:

But then, you take a closer look and Wow! Horse racing scenes:

This is now my all time favourite scarf. I can't tell you how happy I am with it!

Cool! A friend once had a paisley tie that upon closer examination was decidedly x-rated. Nobody ever noticed.....

A couple of recent thrift store finds:

I've never seen one like this...silk and wool but the wool is pink.

...and it wasn't particular cheap (when new, at least)!

A nice red rayon/wool from Sammy:

And finally, today's find...a nice Tootal yellow and red paisley (no horses, though, Two Types).

A couple more finds today.

A older wool by Forsyth:

And a green and brown silk/wool with no label. It was reasonably priced and I have very few green scarves.
