Check with Sam at EA after our hats are in.
Our hats will be special because of us the order was made...but Sam also ordered some to sell on his site.
Sooooo.... he should have some as soon as we get ours.

Thanks, I did send Sam an email.

It doesn't appear that Sam ordered any extra hats for his stock. His response was, "Sorry you missed out on this one."

Here is where I got this from. The original thread on a special Fedora Lounge 2 5\8s brim Campdraft.

Here is the thread...first post.

http://www.thefedoralounge.com/show...bers-for-special-edition-Moonstone-Camp-Draft

Some of you may have noticed some banter about a Moonstone Camp Draft over in the Camp Draft thread. Well this project may be taking flight if you would like to sign on. We need 30 members to confirm their solid interest to get the ball rolling.

I recently inquired via email to Sam, the owner of everythingaustralian about the possibility of having a special run of Akubra Camp Drafts. I suggested a CD in Moonstone with a 2 5/8th brim. I told Sam how his bluegrass green is such a hit with the folks from the Fedora Lounge.

Sam got back to me immediately and said if we can get together 30 FL members he is more than happy to try and broker the manufacture. He felt 90% certain that Akubra would be open to production of this special Moonstone version. He also said if this model went over well he would even stock some in his store.
Sam was so interested in the idea he called me direct at home from his shop in Australia. Was I ever surprised at his enthusiasm.

The specs - Moonstone Camp Draft (open crown as usual) in Imperial (standard) felt with a 2 5/8ths brim. Everything we love in a CD, plus a moderate brim size for those so inclined.

So now it is time to gauge your enthusiasm. Lets get the ball rolling on the countdown to 30. I think I have seen positive responses from the following folks.

1- Duper
2- RBH
3- Egghead
4- gtdean
5- DougC
6- Landman
7- KyleK
8- W4ASZ
9- Maricopakid
10- Florida_Marlin
11- casechopper
12- yeps

That was a fast dozen,,but we need more. If I can see another 12 onboard quickly I will get back to Sam to iron out some more details on payment, sizing and delivery date. Sam did say to expect the usual 3 month wait.

Step right up and own a small piece of FL history in the making.

Maybe he will decide to offer them later. Hopefully, he will get some more requests. I have 4 Campdrafts now, but I would buy more if I could get them with a narrower brim.

I have a standard Blue Grass Green Campdraft and the color is beautiful. It gets a lot of compliments when I wear it. I am looking forward to seeing what this hat will look like with a shorter brim width.

I wonder if maybe we could get enough people together to do this for a standard brim length Black Campdraft? I'm surprised Akubra doesn't offer that any way. In my opinion, Silverbelly and Black are standard hat colors and I've always wanted a Black Campdraft.

I'd go for a black one in the deluxe model.

That is pretty sweet but it only shows a 4" crown. I'll have to look up the size of the Akubra.

That is wrong. Open crown is 5 1/2 just like we wished the new Strat had been. You know I would never be praising a low crowned lid.

Plus, Rusty has a black one & he is more agin low profile lids than me. This is like a Heritage grade but with a narrower brim we're getting with these bluegrass greenies.

You have to admit, you just can't beat a hat deal like the Open Road Biltmore for the price right now. I was giving the suggestion a few days back about purchasing one, contacted the website and asked a few questions and was very pleased with the customer service. Now I see this picture of RBH wearing one, and I just jumped on ordering one before they are all out of them. According to the Customer Service response the hats will be on sale until they have no more for sale...which is going to be very soon. They have sold most of them already so anyone that does wear a size 7 1/2 needs to make a move now, or not have one.

I think the hat looks just like a Black Borsalino, and think about the price??? $120.00 plus shipping......STEAL. Sure the Akubra hats are nice and yes, if they made them in a black campdraft I would jump on one of those but now....do I need to????

Thank you so very much for posting the picture of your Black OR Biltmore, you have added to my thoughts of attire a few times this past week, thank you!!!!
