Ugh, rape culture. I loath that phrase. But it's accurate. I guess because I associate the word culture with a positive meaning as opposed to its literal meaning. I feel that's the irony of the whole thing. No matter what a woman does it will be sexualized. *sigh* As Alice sad so perfectly, it is a wonderful and depressing image.

Yes... There is even pornography centered around burkas, the most modest form of clothing that a woman could wear- you can't even see her eyes. And while I'd like to knock this off as "just" a fetish, I think it's more symbolic of how sexualized women are. They can cover themselves head to toe and still be sexual objects. (And be the ones blamed for being so sexual.)

Yes. I guess with the image, as Lizzie described as well, the words have become more and more aggressive the higher the hemline, and with the time period we currently apply to those hemlines as well. I find it quite fascinating.

Yeah, sure. Alrightie! Let's leave the unfounded conspiracy theory hypotheses aside and take the image at its face value, okay? Thanks.

Deliberately thought up by a teacher to provoke some form of reaction from there students.

Dose it really matter who has created it L/D ?
I would say to you is art all about or at least in some part to provoke some form of thought from the person who looks at it it could be photo of a full nude , or a one of a cute pussy cat drinking milk in this case it hapens to be a lady with writing on her leg.

I not sure why you think just becuse you are a bartender you can guide people to a certain way they might be different opinions to yours I did not see people saying thing that broke the forum rules.

Can any one not have a differnt view from you without been acussed of starting unfounded conspiracy theory hypotheses?

After all you did say "What are your thoughts"?

I think this is far more effective...'How Not To Rape a Woman'
1)Don't put drugs in woman's drinks
2)When you see a woman walking by herself leave her alone
3)If you pull over to help a woman whose car has broken down remember not to rape her.
4)If you are in a lift and a woman gets in, don't rape her.
5)Never creep into a woman's home through an unlocked door or window, or spring out between parked cars, and rape her.
6)USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM ! If you are not able to stop yourself from assaulting people ask a friend to stay with you when you are in public.
7)Don't forget it's not sex with someone who's asleep or unconcious-It's Rape !
8) Carry a whistle! If you are worried you might assault someone 'by accident' you can hand it to the person you are with, so they can call for help.
9)Don't forget: Honesty is the best policy. If you have every intension of having sex later on with the woman you're dating regardless of how she feels about it, tell her directly that there is every chance you will rape her. If you don't communicate your intensions , she may take it as a sign that you do not plan to rape her and inadvertantly feel safe.
10) Don't rape

There's various versions around. I copied this one
http://www.happyplace.com/11433/poster-explains-how-to-not-rape

Instead of educating woman, we need to educate males.

My university has these annoying signs on the inside of the bathroom stalls that give women tips on how to avoid both assault and sexual assault. (I would assume they put them inside the men's room too.) I really hate them because:

A. They're normally stupid things that most people know
B. Every so often there is an assault (sexual or otherwise) where the person did everything "correct" and still got attacked or raped. They send out these emails about how a student was robbed at gun point (or worse) in a group of three people in broad daylight... and then the message goes on to tell us to travel in groups of three, avoid walking at night, etc. etc. It really angers me... Then they attach these "lessons" to an announcement about someone who was gang raped after being kidnapped or raped in broad daylight on the street or raped in their own locked home and it just sickens me. Talk about victim blaming.
