another one

"Veritas" with Arnold Vosloo looked like it was going an interesting direction (it even had diaries with clues to the whatever) and got cancelled quickly. Luckily I taped a couple episodes of it as well as "Three" and "Birds of Prey" to keep the memory.

Ahhh! Was Sofie able to bring her father Brother Justin back to life, even tho he was 'slain' in the 'official' way? Did Ben survive the attack, and come out 'normal'? How will Ruthie use her new powers to see the dead? Will she ever learn HOW she got them? Did Jonzie survive? How will Iris deal with the reaction to the 17,000 immigrants that are on her front lawn! Will Lodz really come back?!

I will never know the answers to these questions! :rage:

The look of Carnivale was so amazing to me. Altho I must admit, in season two, they did get a bit carried away with the 'vegatible oil sweat stains' and the dirty clothes. I know people were grimy in the mid 1930s, but geeze!

Okay, Im back now.

LD

I came upon a Daniel Knaupf interview a month or two back and he gave the basic outline of how season three was going to start (had the nimrods at HBO not canceled the show). I don't remember a whole lot of what he said but I do remember it takes place during the onset of WWII about five years after the end of season two. Carnivale has broken apart with the various performers scattered across the nation. Ben is working for or running another carnival and looking to reunite the "old gang". I might be a little off on that one, it looks kinda hokey after typing it. Ben is still the Creature of Light avatar and has come to accept his responsibilities as such. The Creature of Darkness avatar Brother Justin was indeed successfully ressurected by Sophie and is now married to her and there's a small child in the houshold also. DK wouldn't answer when asked whether the child was Bens or Justins (Sophies Father/Husband). It certainly held promise to be an eventful season at the very least.

Oh, how could they have cancelled,

The Montefuscos
The Ken Berry Wow Show
Pink Lady and Jeff
Struck by Lightning
Mr. T and Tina
The Ropers
Holmes and YoYo
Blansky's Beauties

and of course, there was Put A Lid On It! lol

Did anyone ever get to see the pilot for 'Lookwell' starring Adam West? I saw it when it first aired way back in the early 90s and thought it hilarious - too bad it never got picked up. I know they showed it on Trio a few years ago as part of their 'Brilliant but Cancelled' series.

Regards,

Senator Jack

Dan gave us those tidbits at CarnyCon, and occasionally posts on the Yahoo Carnivale board to give other little hints and to answer questions.
Jonesy survives, and in season 3 he is pitching in the big leagues again and he and Libby have kids, Rita Sue and Stumpy are in Florida running their alligator farm.
The next 2 seasons were to focus on Sofie's emergence as the Omega, too bad we won't get to see them.

Well, Cheer up! "Rome" is coming back. They have signed for a Season Two to chronical the rise of Augustus, who at this point is still "Gaius Octavian.'
True, but it might take until the Roman Empire rises again for them to shoot it!

I *loved* Homefront. I saw Wendy Phillips on commercials for another series and took me a few days to realize where I'd seen her before.

I loved Homefront as well. Such a fantastic show. I wish I could find it on DVD.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned DEADWOOD. No season four - just two two-hour movies and out. Tragedy.

Whaaaaa? No flippin way!

If Rome goes too I'm bustin skulls. (in the Forum and dumping the bodies at Woo's)

True. Unfortunately, painfully, heart-breakingly true. They picked it up for a fourth season and THEN, after some ownership issues between HBO and Paramount, that and the fact that David Milch just doesn't have time for political bull, it all went away. The compromise, instead of leaving it hanging, was the two two-hours as a send off. Milch has said that Deadwood would only run four seasons any way but after the masterpiece that was this season, to be deprived of another eight hours is, well, disheartening to say the VERY least. Farewell Al, you noblest of the lower beasts!

Oh, and only ONE more season of Rome. But, hey, there's always Big Love! Right? Right....

Sorry, I'm a little bitter. I was supposed to work on season four. Que sera, sera...

Oh, I can understand, I just couldn't find a snarky enough emoticon to express my disdain for TV/movie executives.

Well that's good news! I can't wait to see what Titus Pullo will be up to next.

Oh, they're not THAT bad - a little salt, a few parsnips and a 400 degree oven for at least three hours.

[ala Homer] Mmmmmmm, TV executives...ahhhhhhh

Arrested Development - of course to catch everything, you have to watch each episode 3 times, so its 3 season stint translates to 9.

The Pretender - I don't recall how long this one lasted, actually, but I sure enjoyed it. Seems like there are still a lot of unanswered things, though. I think they tried to wrap it up in movie, once, but didn't quite do it. I thought there was to be another one, but I never did see anything about it.

Ed - What a great show. I was not surprised at all when it was all done after three years. The underlying love story was going nowhere interesting and they could only rehash the same thing over and over so many times. But what a great show.

New favorite show, now in its second season - Prison Break.
