So... After a Lifetime of hand-me-downs and Ill fitting OTR suits, I finally ordered a custom made one with a local tailor I've gone for a very long time.

I just had my measurements taken today and I must say, I'm really excited.

For the first one, I asked A SB, 2 button, with 2 vents, a ticket pocket, notch lapels, 3 piece, straight cut single pleated trousers.

So, I just had my first fitting today! So far Everything seems to be going as planned... The first Test gives me an idea of how it's gonnna look on me...

It is! Totally beats going to the Store and trying out dozens, which seldom fit. The suit should be ready in about 4 to 5 more weeks, and there are still a couple of fittings needed. Also I like how the tailor has been so informative and helpful through the entire process. We'll see how it turns out, but I'm thinking that it will be great.

Great pics - bring back memories of my own fittings. As you say, the whole
experience is really interesting and I found it fascinating to see the suit being created through all the various stages. Looking forward to seeing you in the finished article !!

SECOND FITTING:

Well, today was the second fitting. The jacket is almost ready!

Excuse the face, I'm not very good at posing in pictures...

I know the lining choice is a bit flashy... But I simply couldn't resist!

Well, here's the finished suit!

This is me, from the side...

The back, with its double vents...

I realize that the liner is quite louder than expected, but I really like how it looks:

With the jacket off, I specifically asked for suspender buttons, with no belt loops in the trousers...

A better look at the trousers:

"And this, 007, I'm particularly proud of... the secret pocket"

I must say, I'm really happy at how it turned out, I'm deffinitely going to comission another one. I realize this suit is a bit more conservative than what we normally see here at the FL, but since it was the first, I wanted it to be as versatile as possible. (For the next ones, I'm thinking of going a bit more 30s in the style)

BTW, this is a 3 piece suit, but so far I haven't worn it in that configuration, so I have no photos of it for the time being...

The trousers fit especially well with the braces though no back pockets?

It does have back pockets, but they have a zipper closure instead of a buttoned one (my request), It's curious they didn't show up in the pics...
