Help with Bangs, please :)

I decided to add Brooks bangs to my bob Tuesday. I love the look but I am having a problem with my
bangs becoming greasy by day 2. I usually wash my hair every three days (but I was also wet setting
my hair twice a week before) I would love to be able to wash it every other day with this cut.
Any ideas on keeping the greasiness down? I think it may be from my moisturizer that I put on nightly!
Also, how do you keep them from getting all wonky and succumbing to cowlicks on the 2nd day?

On the TV show Laverne and Shirley, Penny Marshall as Leverne had bange/fringe. Here is what she did to keep her bangs straight, every night Laverne would take a long thin strip of masking tape and place the tape across her bangs to keep them straight. Laverne also uses two pin curl clips on each side of her bangs to help keep the tape on while she slept.
I asked my mom once while watching what it was Laverne had across her hair and my mom said tape. It was years latter that I learned that a lot of women used tape (clear and masking tape) to keep a hairstyle shape.

To help with the oily-ness you can use a dry shampoo Pssssst is a great brand.

You can just wash your bangs in the sink. It takes a bit of practice, but it's pretty easy once you have the hang of it. Or use dry shampoo as Miss Nathalie suggests.

I often put my bangs up in a "Velcro" curler for the night. That helps to keep them tame and keep them away from the grease.

those are great tips SHEEPLADY. i love bangs, but they give me a horrible time.I have therefore spent the last 20 years growing them out and cutting them off..growing them out and cutting them off..funny, it never occured to me to wash them ..not on their own that is..lol

glad that was helpful... about 15 years ago I was reading a website on "no poo" (which is a no shampoo set of methods) and there was this woman who said, "you know, you can just wash your bangs" to another woman. And I was like "oh, my gosh, she's right!" So you're not alone... it was new to me then. Just be careful not to hit your head on the faucet... it will leave a dent.

Try a conditioning rinse with either fresh squeezed lemon juice or white vinegar to cut the oil down. I don't know what the proper ratio measurements with water are, because I just use all juice and no water, because I am a dare devil like that.

so yesterday morning, i cut my own bangs..again. I really do like my face so much better framed with bangs. Also, my hair is so thick, that really i just have too much hair. Something has to be short somewhere. But of course..now begins the eternal fight to keep them from turing into that frizzy poof on my forehead. I really don't like shampooing anymore than i have to, so i think in the morning, i will just try washing my bangs and see how it goes. I am pretty excited actually, maybe this time, i can actually work with this, instead of getting fed up in 3 months time and grow them out again.
