Acquisitions... not much... a lot of research projects have been eating my time, a few of them being to assist with the launch of a Napoleonic naval miniatures wargame due out soon. (Ran into Chanfan on its community forum, which reminded me about over here.) Other than that, lots of data-crunching re WWI and WWII... my major acquisitions have been books and ammo--working on acquiring the entire Osprey Publishing catalog on WWI and WWII as they get things re-released as e-books. (Ever try to carry around more than a half-dozen books in hardcopy? PDF on hard drive gives me a library in the space of a single paperback...)
Pretty much my life: books, ammo, miniatures, parts to keep my old beast of a laptop going while I set cash aside for a new 17"-screen Suitcase Monster to replace it. Oh, and trying to organize a reunion for 318th FIS/25th Air Division/Western Air Defense Sector and any other old USAF Aerospace Defense Command alumni in the Puget Sound area next summer. As Mike Frans would say, got tired of growing calluses on my [REDACTED] sittin' around waitin' on others to pull it off while their efforts fizzled, so I'm talking with a few guys at McChord Air Museum while I wait for classes to restart so I can get back in touch with my old prof who once commanded the 318th and see if he'll canvass his old buddies. Also, since one of my neighbors is a Doolittle Raider, trying to debate whether or not I hve time to try to build him a model of his old bird before he PCS's to his final assignment flying St. Peter's wing.

The problem is, I'm a VERY SLOOOOOOOOOOOW builder (seriously, I have things that've been on the bench for approaching TWO DECADES). Fine detail is a buttload of trouble with my fine-motor problems... Tempted to just cheat, buy two of the Wings of Glory gaming-miniature B-25s, repaint them as his old bird, generate a custom game-card to go with each, give him one and ask him to autograph the other for me.

A few years ago when I first found the lounge there was a lady here named Miss Hannah... I think she was a British citizen. I've not seen her in any recent threads. She was a lovely looking lady

Mmmm . . . Carebear's real name was Carbury, as I recall. He contributed a lot. And Mr H, he house sat for me once while I was on vacation,. Great guy. I'm friends with him on FaceBook, so I can report that he's doing great.
