Is my Eastman A2 way too small?

Sorry for the thread hi-jack about wanting a dog. No, in 11 months I retire... I'll head to the pound that weekend. I'm leaning towards a mutt of some kind.

Worf

No apologies necessary! I approve whole-heartedly of your good intentions, Worf. Mutts are the best - and don't overlook the more senior ones! (our Bo is about 8 or 9 and he's the most perfect dog imaginable. We feel like we've loved him all his life).
Maybe when you've found your new pal and you two are completely inseparable and you're a total dog fan, maybe you'll change your handle to Woof? :)

Hi everyone,

I don't comment much, but I love the FL; so many nice jackets and overcoats. I'm looking for some fit advice from you guys who know your flight jackets...

I've been getting into A-2's and old G-1's, buying a jacket, trying out the fit, then reselling if it's not quite right.

I got this early to mid 70's G-1 recently, and I had thought it was a bit short ... but maybe not by very much, perhaps an inch? maybe i should just pull my pants up more... (I tried in the first two photos). I'm quite long bodied and long armed (and could shed a few pounds), and I was going to sell this, but am having second thoughts. While this jacket is a slim fit (if you can call it that on me), the arms are the right length and move very freely. I'm wondering whether to keep it as a fall jacket to wear just with a shirt (as in the pictures). There's no size label, but it's in very good condition.

What do you guys think of the fit?
(please excuse my frown, messy hair / in general; these were quickly taken photos)

If it fits in the sleeve (which it does), then it fits in the body because that's how the jacket was meant to fit. I would recommend a higher waisted pant, or maybe just picking up your pants. Then I think you may like the fit better. It's a nice jacket too.

Well, to my eye, the shoulders are perfect and the sleeves are good too - just right IMO. It fits you great - especially zipped up.
Therefore, if all those are good (and they are IMO), then the body is in good relation to the sleeves ...
Methinks that the jacket looks a tad short in the photos because the pants just need hitching up ... an easy fix! ;)
Keep the jacket !

Thanks for the opinions on sizing. I think I'll keep hold of it a while and see how it feels. I generally wear more spacious jackets, but this is really growing on me. The classic cuts are the best!

The wife thinks it looks fine on you...so there's a female opinion too.

Yep, hoist them and you're good to go. Can be a bit difficult getting used to clothes that actually fit properly, we live in a relaxed-fit society generally, but they look 100 times better.

Holy smokes - a woman gives a verdict on the FL ! Does it get better than that?
I mean, that's virtually the equivalent of the Russian judge at the ice skating at the Olympics !

I've got to ask ... is she real? I mean, she's not some imaginary wife, or something?!?

You scored large there, my friend. Wow. Never leave her and keep her sweet. You're a lucky man! ;)
