Hey...
I have recently read from somewhere that there are ingredients in toothaste that help minimize acne. Has anyone else heard of this? Has anyone tried it? what were the results?

I tried it. It's supposed to be drying, but I don't recall noticing a huge difference, maybe a little bit. I've been having some very frustrating skin issues for a long time now, and last week I got desperate and started considering a dermatologist. In a last effort, I asked my friend who is an esthetician who makes skin care products what I should do. She told me to stop using chemicals like what you find in commercial soap, and since I ditched shampoo and went natural with my hair with fantastic results, I started to do the same with my face. Best thing I ever did! I could almost go without makeup now, I'm so excited I want to tell the whole world! I used castile soap and also just got a natural vegan face cleanser that reminds me of yogurt. Try it out!

Key word: "supposed".
It all depends on your own skin.
So, take this advice, but know that this worked FOR ME, and might not work on you.. or even might make your face burst out. [huh]
I have acne. Adult, hormonal acne.
(this is important knowing, since I control mine with a special hormone treatment prescribed by my gynecologist after I have taken lot of test).
Some days, I break out. Then, I use tooth paste. NEVER the gel type, since it'll not dry on your skin. The paste is placed only on the acne, since it is drying out the skin and it may be really strong. Also, I never tend to use whitening paste.
I go to sleep with all those cute paste-dots on my face I'm happy that I'm single (and that no man is present to see my face)

Again: this "treatment" works on me, personally.

I do agree with Penny Dreadful
The worse thing one can do to her skin is treat it with commercial foaming cleanser. :nono:

The main ingredient in a popular acne medicine is also used as a hardener in plastic auto body filler.

I would try a change of diet. Eat nothing but fresh fruit and vegetables for 2 weeks and see what happens. Washing with a mild soap helps too. Drink plenty of water.

To deal with acne, increase your water intake for drinking and prefer raw rood over processed food. Limit sun exposure and use sunscreen capabilities moisturizers. Use natural, organic and non toxic face soap and wash your hair regularly.

Toothpaste may not work on everybody. The best advice is no doubt cleaning diet. The best fruit for acne is PAPAYA. Eat it,make a thick paste of it (without sugar) and apply it topically. This works like a charm. You must try papaya. In addition,Take green tea daily after lunch.

Toothpaste works fine for me on single pimples but I've never tried it for large areas. I've only ever heard of using it as a spot treatment.
