I don't think I have bought a hat in two years, since unloading about a dozen, including one now in a museum. :)

So I have been needing a nice gray fedora since I rarely wear my nicest Whippet in a beautiful blue. So I found a nice Adam Executive in a similar style in a nice gray.

Also snagged a very nice gray Akubra Snowy River. I bet I wear my brown Snowy River or my Fed more often to work than all my other hats. They both keep the rain off, which is nice since I have to walk from the Metro a couple of blocks to my office. They also both go with my cowboy boots, which I wear almost daily. Since I have about 30 pair I could wear a different pair every day of the month, but I don't. ;) Here in DC I am known by many, who don't know me at all but have seen me, as "I know that guy, he's the one who wears the boots and hats all the time right?" Fedoras are seen nearly daily on my commutes, but not many nice ones and a lot of crappy ones and non-fedora trilbys and such. There are a fair number of people who wear outback style hats, mostly wool, and the wool Stetson medium brimmed country hats.

Just snatched this one and the BIN was not too bad. Can anyone tell me if its earlier than the 50s?

I'm in a pleasant state of shock. Just received an unreeded Royal Stetson Deluxe Vita Felt in dark chocolate brown. Paid about $48 shipped. It is marked 6 7/8 but is only a little tight on my 7 1/8 head. Very wearable.

The felt is truly amazing & to me at least, the hat is gorgeous in all respects. Only an early Whippet I sold a while back has ever come close to this felt, in my experience.

Caramel smoothie- I like your style! I'm a newbie but I love your moxie!!!! A Philly guy that understands a good woman. Best of luck in your new endeavor. Let's do old Cadillacs, Buick's deuce and a quarter and the men that drove them and the hat's they wore?

Let me in on the shock, John! A true gem at an extremely nice price! Congratulations :eusa_clap

What luck! I won this green felt Parisian cloche last night for $79.99

Yeah, I was tempted to bid, but I decided it didn't work with my glasses. I'm happy, you got it - and at a ridiculous price, too. I'm positive, you will complement it a lot better. Congratulations :D

I think you have a Canadian-made Stetson there.

Why do you think that? I would have guessed, it was US-made(?)

Won this one myself the other day - but in comparison I had to bleed a little more. I'm a quite excited to see it, and to see how bad the "chewing" in front is. The seller wrote to another buyer, that it is not moth cavities - but I'm not so sure, he's right about that. Anyway, they can easily be hidden behind the ribbon. A bit to the stingy side, but I like the brim binding :)

Yeah, not easy to read on the photo, but the text under the crest on the liner seems to read "American Manufacture" like other Philly made Stetsons of that time.

Exactly, and I would also have expected a maple leaf in the crest, instead of the stars. I think, I remember something about the leaf being introduced, when the Canadian branch was established. I'm not 100% sure about the latter, though.

I don't quite know what to make of this - a wide(ish) ribbon Stetson 25 stuffed in a Stratoliner box. Makes for an interesting brim shape. Hoping on the size too.

Still for $42 worth a chance - I can always sell the box :)
