Also, what exactly did you finally end up ordering? If you've already posted the details, sorry for asking, but I missed it.

Thanks, Bob

Love mine too, very pleased with whole experience.... should mention: - great customer relations (Amanda) and excellent work putting it together ( Janet) and a lovely piece of Horween CXL ...you will be delighted I'm sure.

Butte dude- we get it that you don't dig Alexander Leathers. But quite honestly, your constant neg vibes at anything Alexander is getting a bit lame. Not everyone sees the leather world through the same optics as you do. Much of what you contribute to this community is helpful, and I- a newbie lurker- certainly appreciate it. But the Alexander thing is getting tiring.

Well after getting it down to micro specifics of hide tanning...top and full grain...wrinkled grain..jerky herky and baby butt smooth grain..veggie or deep dyed.. and what's best and all the rest..it should turn out very remarkable even tho it's not a BK. Oh wait..there is also the idea of perfection in the fit..!! I really didn't see that so scrutinized..did I..? I sure hope that turns out fine. Many have seemed to stumble with that one aspect when adding up all the other minute research along the detailed journey.

I just hope the inside pocket doesn't show through on the outside with that sort of outline thingy. Or that it does. Depending.

Sh*t! We forgot to discuss the hardware - Nickel? Brass? Antique brass?
This could end badly

Well now you've opened another back door. Debating the metallurgy.. composites and seeking out company statements concerning Chromium..brassolium or Metallica (which could generally use more cowbell/steerbell if you ask me). The strength and weaknesses of each ore and what finishes may actually easily rub off. Then(in the end) whether any of that really matters after all when all the opinions are gathered and sorted. An exhausting venture that again can lead back to size. Small or big snaps. Nipple or simple? Slanted Zipper teeth...locking stopper or added popper. Seems we need much more deeply involved research...:becky:

FredS, please stop production immediately!!!!
There is so much more to discuss!!!!

Don't worry....the things I did discuss here on this forum are only a very small part of the total research I put into this. You really don't want me to go into depth about the
fit and all the other stuff. Trust me though......I was busy with it for weeks and constantly on the phone with Will and Amanda getting all the details just right.

Jacket a custom modified jacket based on the J106 design but without a bi-swing back. Instead the back and the yoke is the same as the 4 Pocket roadster. From below the yoke it's the J106 design with a kidney panel just like the J106.
No belt and no belt loops. Instead 2 adjuster straps on each side with specially ordered heavy duty nickel plated buckles. No little front flap pocket but 2 slanted handwarmer pockets and a slanted breast pocket.
The 3 outer pockets all have zips with YKK zippers and Talon pulls. Main zip also Ykk heavy duty with Talon pulls. All zips nickel plated. One inside pocket. Sleeves as on the J106 model with zippers at the end of the sleeves. A 3 inch wide leather waistband that runs along the inside of the jacket at the bottom so that that is the part that comes into contact with my belt so that it's not the lining that is in contact with my belt. That prevents the lining from rubbing against my belt and wearing through eventually.

Horweens Chromexel Black Steer

Lining = Lochcarron Strome Black Watch Dress Ancient Tartan ( authentic tartan in a traditional heavy weight worsted wool synonymous with the 8 yard hand made kilt)

Sounds like a heck of a jacket. Just curious-- why'd you go w/ steer instead of horse (or other leathers)?

Well the reason is that my brother who lives in South Africa ordered 2 jackets from Noble-House in Germany and had them delivered to me here in Holland. I will deliver them to him next week when I fly out to South Africa for a 3 week holiday. One of those jackets is a horse hide jacket and although it's a very nice leather I had my heart set on cow or steer as in the past I had a great cowhide biker jacket. I find that horse a bit stiff and ungiving actually and don't like the smell much either.
I did order a Perfecto style jacket from Noble-House at the same time as my brothers order but returned it for a refund as I was unhappy about the quality of some of the stitching and the finish was not so good in some places. The belt and buckle were also both quite flimsy (Cheap belt buckle) The leather was great though. Then I ordered a Model Elite biking jacket from Bikers Paradise in the UK. That was a strong and well manufactured jacket but I was not so happy with the styling after I received it so I sent that back for a refund too. That was also in black cow hide and I really liked the leather. Well now it's Horweens Black Chromexell Steer and the sample of that leather I received convinced me as I really liked it very much.
