Can't say I've noticed any itchiness with mine, however I only wear them when it's cold and with something underneath!

They itch a bit when worn on bare skin. I wouldn't wear it without an undershirt but it doesn't bother me to have it in contact with my bare arms.

I do not feel any discomfort wearing mine directly, without a T shirt under, and the prices are very attractive indeed

No I don't find these sweaters itch at all, like some of the replies here today, I sometimes wear them without a T-shirt/undershirt or shirt etc underneath and they are are fine. If I do have anything on underneath it's just a short sleeve T-shirt, the sweaters are so warm you don't need anything else.

I do find mine itches a bit, however I have sensitive skin, they are still one of the best jumpers available and its easy to wear a long sleeved t shirt/shirt underneath, but boy are they warm!

The answer is probably dependent upon the particular yarn used the texture of which varies. My charcoal is stiff course yarn and is going to be tough as nails. I haven't had the chance to wear it much but when I have it's been with just a t-shirt and I haven't noticed the sweater being itchy at all. This is one of the situations where the product is almost too good to be true.

Yes, I agree, one of the chunkies I have is also made of course wool, but even so I don't find it at all itchy even with no t-shirt etc underneath.
They are indeed an excellent product, very good value for money, a great sweater and wonderful customer service.

Yes, me too - the warmest jumper that I own. I've also got a gansey in brown nepp on it's way to me. Perfect for this time of year.

As this is the thread for "fishermen's sweaters" I post the one I received from Black Sheep lately. A light grey, undyed wool "Sloppy Joe".
I'm actually so happy with it that I ordered one more in dark wool plus one in size small for my girlfriend. Best sweater I ever had!

Looks really nice. I used to have one of those Sloppy Joe sweaters, some years ago, but I'm afraid it became too small for me because I put on a little weight!

Yes, I agree, that black Sheep Sweater looks excellent.
You can not beat a really good pure wool heavy sweater, especially in the current spell of bad weather we are having here in the UK at the Moment. I saw a chap yesterday in a good looking roll neck Arran Sweater. I really like the pullovers I have from Sou'West Chunkies too.

I tend to favour military sweaters and wool Guernseys and have worn these a lot over the past few weeks. I do have some Sou'West chunkies as well and, as I indicated in my reply to Tomaso, I used to have a fisherman's sweater from Black Sheep but outgrew it.

I ordered one of these Harris wool sweaters from Aero while they we're shut for Christmas, but it shipped today!

That looks nice. I wonder where Aero source their knitwear from? (I'm assuming that - like the boots and one or two jackets - they don't produce these in-house.)
