Warf, I've seen these before. Think an entry-level Aero from years back...

Haha, thx my man! I am really (really) digging it. Its easily my most comfortable leather jacket (thx to the large Aero armholes). plus its been fun to wear a black jacket for a change. Gonna be a bit of a drought for a while, but hopefully within the year ill pick up a BK Aeronaut or an Aero Aeromarine (say that five times fast :D ). Will take some buying and selling before I can do it tho... How bout you? Holding out for another godsend GW?? ;)

To the topic de jour- other than this being a rare size I'd say it isn't worth over what you suggest (if not less). Someone else on here will know more than me, but I'm pretty sure these were made in Pakistan. Basically, for seven plus bones you should be able to get a hell of a lot more

Breton is right; those Aero Flight jackets were budget A-2's made of thinner leather that was sourced from Pakistan. Decent overall construction and standard Aero hardware. I had one in seal brown goatskin (sold it after afew months). They were made notoriously short in the body length (especially in front, for some reason). I think they were about $500 brand new from Aero.

Kinda what I thought guys... thanks... but I never heard of the Pakistan connection. Under who's admin was that deal made? What years did they do this?

Breton, as for what's next for me? Well... three things (after my impending retirement that is LOL!) on my mind. An OD green A1 with Oatmeal knits, Thunderbay for NEXT winter and a B-6 I'm in the queue for at GoodWear. I too have a BUNCH of stuff to sell and then I'll be good to go.

I've got a couple of these. They were from the late '90's into early 2000's. It was Aero's attempt to be have a competitive product when the GBP and USD had such a wide disparity.
Aero referred to them as "Indian Goat" although skins other than goatskin were used I believe as I have both smooth and pebbled hide jackets.
It uses a generic contract and the fit is slightly larger than tagged, but not bad. My biggest complaint on them is that the collars are too thick. About 5-6mm on the ends. Also I've seen tuna cans w/ thicker metal than these zipper pulls. I swapped mine out.

I don't recall them being made in Pakistan but it's moot. They were about $300 USD when their contract jackets were selling for about double that. As I recall the exchange rate was almost double the dollar. Aero even offered free US shipping to help defray the high cost.
I've used them for patch and nose art jackets. They do serve well, but I wouldn't pay over 2 bills nowadays on them. Especially with all the second hand high end jackets on the market.

I remember somebody saying that they stopped because monitoring quality was nigh-on impossible. There was also the short period in the 90s when they had jackets produced in Canada - that was when they had really taken off in Japan.

About 12 or so years ago Aero offered a goat A-2 made in India, it was a less expensive entry level jacket that retailed for about $300. Aero provided all the materials and sent someone to India to train them on making the jacket to Aero standards. The first shipment was quite good and sold well, but the second shipment wasn't done as good and the project was dropped. It was a nice jacket for the price.
