That Canadian Lancaster actually offers flights when it's at home in Hamilton, Ontario. It appears they are planning to offer a limited number of flights when it's in the UK. I bet they'll be booked up quickly.

I believe the figure is circa £3500. Even if I had it it I'd think twice.
Flew on a B-17 nearly thirty years ago. That'll have to do.

Will see and photograph this pair though! Even if it costs me £3500!

The Twinwood Festival often come up with some seriouly good surprises with fly pasts, I wonder if they might contrive this pair to fly over?
Twinwood is held at the end of August, you never know.

The figure of £3500 seems rather high. On my reckoning, you could get a return flight to Canada and a flight in the Lancaster at Hamilton for less than that. Air musuem membership and flight upgrade for the Lancaster flight would be $2725 CD (i.e. about £1500) leaving you to spend £2,000 on travel, hotel & fun etc.

Details from the Hamilton website regarding the UK visit:
The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum will also conduct exclusive "CWHM UK Bomber Member Only Events" featuring the Lancaster at Humberside Airport. These exclusive CWHM membership activities will include the opportunity to hear the story of the Canadian Lancaster, meet her crews, tour and photograph the aircraft and see the last flying Canadian built Lancaster in operation. There are only a limited number of these CWHM UK Bomber Memberships available at this time so please contact Laura Hassard-Moran at lhassard@warplane.com for further details.

This truly is a "Once in a Lanc Time" opportunity that will not be available again. Dates: August 18, 19, & 20, 26 & 27 (with special events scheduled for the morning, mid-day & afternoon).

I remember several years ago the Canadian Lancaster was scheduled to appear at the Geneseo, NY air show. It was a pretty big deal the aircraft was on the cover of the show program. Then they cancelled fairly near the event. Concerns about the grass field and also the weather, rain the week prior to the event had left the ground a bit squishy in places, but the runway and taxiways were all over a sand base and drained well. Oh well. I was *that close* to seeing it.
