I could be wrong but they look like luxire shirts preproduced and rebranded. Nothing wrong with that though. They do the selling and "branding" so that people who are looking for 30s style shirts can easily find them.

Thanks all.

For those of us in the UK they probably work out about the same price as buying from Luxire, once you factor in shipping and import taxes (which can be a bit random).

How do they compare in price to the Luxurie options, once you get all the correct details in there?
There is no surcharge for the style options so price is dictated by the cloth selected, which ranges from 36£ to 137£ , with the great majority under 79£. Hard to say which shirting is used on the eBay shirt.

Thanks. Yeah, the shipping and imprt duties can eat up a perceived saving ordering direct from the US at times... Last I looked, they charge 4.5% import tax on top of full price including shipping, then 20% VAT of that total on top. If they're in a bad mood, they can sometimes charge the dollar amount as if it were pounds. Then Parcelforce gouge you for about £8 'handling fee'. Not always worth the hassle if it's available in the UK, even at a substantially inflated price (which is, of course, the point). I'll be interested to hear if anyone buys one how they compare. This puts them on a par, price-wise, with Darcy clothing for a shirt of this type, though Darcy don't often seem to keep anything other than white in stock. I just wish dear Charles Tyrwhitt would produce their classic cut with this collar on it. At four for a tonne, I'd never feel the need to go anywhere else!

I've just bought the detachable collar from Darcy, I bought it over the phone. He's never forgot the time when I sent him payment for a hat, omitting the VAT. He sent the hat, with a compliment slip, hoping that I would enjoy my new fedora, and that I was an honoury overseas customer. (For forgetting to add the VAT.)

Edward,
These arrived today, my first 2 Luxire shirts and I couldn't be more pleased. They were ordered on the 20th Feb and first arrived yesterday but I had to arrange re-delivery. The delivery was by DHL and there were no extra VAT or Customs duties. The white is the dobby cotton the same as one of the ones on ebay. It cost $59.99 or about £35.97 including delivery, that compares to £75 plus £6.95 from the ebay seller. Even if the Luxire shirt had been hit with import charges it would still be significantly less. So unless you are in a desparate hurry get them direct - but join the queue I'm about to order some more!

Thanks - yes, that sounds great. I especially like the blue! I must hunt back through the thread for the details of what to order to get the right collar et cetera.

Hey fellas, I've started this thread at the beginning on the search for my perfect shirt.

The website itailor was mentioned waaaaay back there in one post, but it was never brought up again in the thread as far as I could tell.

I have to say, I really dig the options on this site, and the prices are remarkable for the level of customization.

Has anyone ordered shirts from here?

Edward, I think the Luxire website sets out exactly how to order the vintage style shirt (with all the features, as ordered originally by Qirel).

If you are not certain, just send them a PM and they'll guide you.

Actually the fact that Luxire offer a soley made to measure service is the reason I have not yet ordered from them. I have had nothing but bad experiences with online tailors and find that the more measurements they ask for the less likely you are to get anything which even remotely fits. There have been occasions, on returning a ludicrously-sized jacket for the third time, when I've wanted nothing more than to say 'Can't you just make me one in a 44L and be done with it'.

Obviously I cannot speak for the service from Luxire and do not wish to suggest that it is anything other than exemplary but these experiences have led to me, paradoxically, paying extra for a re-branded Luxire shirt because I could order a standard 16.5 collar without the potential disappointment of MTM. It arrived on Friday and fits perfectly. Great shirt.

Reminds me of this blog
The results with MTM are indeed mixed. But it is a blessing to guys with non standard measurements like very long arms or sloping shoulders (the latter is tricky to get right for MTM though)

That being said I am quite happy that it is so much easier to buy spearpoint collar shirts than 5 years ago.

Luxire have a copy service with no measuring required. Simply send them a shirt that fits and they copy it down to the T. Personally, that's the only way I would get involved with a remote 'custom' transaction.

Anton, since it appears you bought a shirt made by Luxire that had been rebranded, why not just say to Luxire "make me a shirt to the exact specifications that you did for this one" and it will be cheaper.

That's a good idea. That's exactly what I'll do. I can see myself buying quite a few of these.

Hmn.... I wonder then could I send them one of my CT Shrits with the specification of a different collar...?
