Yes, I am sure this would work. Also it is Iess of a risk if you send a worn out shirt compared to sending a vintage one.

I just finished this shirt, from a 1930s pattern. It's the first attached collar mens shirt I've made. The collar that came with the pattern wasn't as long, but I didn't like how it turned out so I ripped it off and made this one, copied from a 1930s original but keeping the pattern's stand. The stand is a little lower than it should be, the next time I use the pattern I'll use the stand that matches the collar.

I wonder is that an Angels or a Darcy (though they'd still have been the Vintage Shirt Company when that was filmed, I think?) Hastings is wearing?
The Angels pull-over shirts are really nice - picked one up a couple of months ago. I might well buy more. Excellent shape for wearing with a tie under a leather jacket. I'd ideally like the option for a sleeve an inch longer, but that said the sleeves are by no means too short. Photo eventually....

French 30's shirt by "Paris Cravates" with exchangable collar sewn to the shirt.
Salmon-color birdseye sports shirt... seems to be homecrafted. But what a soft and long collar!
Blue-striped shirt from Vienna... this one is probably early 50's.

I thought my recent order from Natty shirts deserved a post.
They did a very good job:
I asked for workwear eye buttons, and they pleasantly surprised me by using a patterned metal button that goes well with the colour of the shirt.

Some observations:
- the customer service is superb, I must have been an annoying customer as I sent many messages to ensure that all the details I wanted were implemented, and many more correcting errors I made, and I was greeted with politeness, patience and efficiency.
- they are quite happy to make any shape of collar, and it is easy to select an unfused collar during the order process.
- Other than the collar, I have not pursued a vintage fit, so I do not know how succesful they would be in making a full pledged reproduction. Personally I like a slim fitting shirt.
