Hardly vintage at 24yrs of age, but a nice little rabbit/quail gun nonetheless:
12 bore, 24" (...yes 24") barrels and despite the barrels being on the wrong way round it shoots pretty well.

Thanks but that propulsion technology is a lot of noise about very little. It is hit of miss from 15 yards on. Also the pellet is not all that effective. I had great fun with giving exhibitions but for shooting it is like a javelinn and less effective at that. Even at the time the air gun tech was more advanced, deadly and accurate. See the Girandoni air gun used by Lewis & Clark; arguably the most important gun in the history of the US.
My air rifles are stúnning examples of high precision engineering and manufacture and even so are not the latest advance. The most advanced can shoot groups of 1" at 200 yards!! with enough energy to floor a wild pig.

Air rifles are fascinating, in the US the famed Lewis and Clark Expedition used them as they crossed and mapped the Louisiana Territory.

Ah, the Featherweight model. I've got one, too, and was told by the H&H shooting school chief instructor that OTR it fits me as well as a bespoke double should. I guess one has to get lucky once in a while.

Just finished restoring this West German (actually French made) Walther PPK/s for a friend. It was originally mine, I sold it in rough shape as frequent carrying had worn the bluing off of the left side of the slide as well as the back strap and front grip. I got it back, polished the bad areas down to clean steel, getting rid of most of the pitting, then reblued with Brownell's Oxpho Blue, which is an excellent product if prepped and applied correctly (side note: make sure to degrease really well, use a hair dryer to heat up the steel, and use a toothbrush and 0000 steel wool to apply). Let me know what you think:

I just can't get excited about the 9mm. I want a cartridge that knocks the other guy down so I can make a quick escape. All a 9mm will do is kill him . . . eventually.:eeek:

OldSarge, some friends of mine who served on the Illinois State Police carried 9mm for years and all swore by the 115 grain +P JHP rounds. They hated the 124 grain subsonics that they carried until switching to .40s.

Deacon, unfortunately not. I was in a hurry to get this one done, so I neglected to snap any shots of the pistol before I started polishing. In any case, I replaced the blued PPK/s with a stainless PPK, pre-S&W era US made by Interarms. Already had it at the range, not a single failure with either range or carry ammo. I'm thrilled to have the proper PPK finally, and in carry-friendly stainless!

Sounds real nice Picard! Congrats! Oh, I started a post on FB about how many have put a dimple in their ceiling from a 1911 recoil plug. I am definitely not alone in that!

How many have poked their ceiling with a Mosin-Nagant bayonet because you just had to fix the bayonet to "see how it looked" ?

Wish I had a nickel for every time I sent a shotgun plug sailing out of the mag tube into the ceiling or light fixture, trying to replace the magazine spring retaining cap back on the mag tube with extremely oiling hands!
