That's a lovely stapler! I love those old polished steel/chrome designs. Very snazzy on a desk!

I've been meaning to post this for weeks. Here is one of my restorations:

1936 Singer 128k V.S. domestic sewing machine.

Before:

This is exactly how I bought it. Missing everything. No lid, no slide-plate, no key, no accessories...almost nothing at all.

During:

About a year later, I got my hands on a lid, a key, and a replacement slide-plate from a box of sewing-machine bits and pieces.

After:

About 90% complete.

It's ongoing. I'm hoping to get my hands on some extra bobbins soon.

Shangas, if you keep restoring those things like that you could A) open your own shop or B) sell them to rich people who don't know what they are at overly inflated prices as works of art.

So far I've only done two. This one, and my grandmother's Singer 99k. If I get the chance, I may do more. I have at least two more in the basement waiting restoration.

You just can't beat those old Singer sewing machines. You can just about sew the steal panels on a car with one!

Certainly not as impressive as the sewing machine (great job on that) but this is one of a pair of lamps I found under my grandmothers house and finally got around to re-painting and re-wiring. The shades are new, the old ones were way too far gone to salvage. I'm glad to finally get some use out of them.

The sewing machine reminds me of my Grandmother, she had a old one with the foot pedal.

The choice of lampshade really goes with the look of that lamp, as the lamp also looks perfect on the table you have it on.

I do however have to ask you, what is that "Rabbit" all about? Could it be that it is used to help persuade unruly children that instead of the nice pink Easter Bunny, they get "THAT" unless they behave well?

LOL....the painting is by a local artist we know, I think it is intended as a statement about the objectification of women (playboy bunny and all that). My wife liked it and he needed money so it came to live at our house. I recently painted the living room and we are still in the process of deciding where all the art needs to be displayed, that is why it's hanging out on the floor at the moment.

Thank you for the comment about the lamp also. They had been my grandparents and I felt really strongly about hanging on to them. Everyone in my family thought I was crazy for not just throwing them in the trash. I guess I'm the only one who appreciates vintage. It killed me when my grandfathers passed that none of their old clothes would fit me.

Thank you! Restoring of that MP is still in progress. For now I can tell that cleaning in the electrolysis did not go as expected, but nothing is lost. My friend will give me some tannate for preserving metal parts and then I'll get replicas of bakelite parts which literally fell apart.

Sadly, the bobbins that my friend produced weren't Singer bobbins. But I've held onto them anyway, just in case they should prove to be handy in the future.
