Ummm...none of the A-2's that I am aware of are very flattering to the mid section because of the cargo pockets. Best to look at a cafe racer IMO for a slimmer look.

Aero's 38 contract or Bronco have been said to be slim. I had a Bill Kelso Roughwear 23380 that fit like a glove (Tbf, probably because I should have sized up).

That's not really answering the question, is it? There are certainly trimmer A2's around and it's a fair question given that some of the more affordable A2s posted here like Gibson and Barnes are oversized, baggy items. Part of the answer, Ordy, may be buying one that is a couple of sizes smaller than you would normally wear, to compensate for the extra leather.

I'm guessing the answer would depend on how important historical accuracy is to you? I'm sure some of the usual manufacturers would be happy to let you slim one down in the mid section but just be careful, the purists may not approve....

I agree, that is the Eastman is your best bet. The Aero 38 and the Bronco are not exactly very slender, I would describe them as tubular, i.e. ratio of the shoulder/chest width to the waist line is small. Or, what you can do is to do a custom order, go down one size and then lengthen the trunk and the sleeves.
My Aero Bronco A-2 in size 44 is very much a slim fitting A-2, at least for me. As a point of reference, I normally wear a size 44 long sports coat and an Aero size 42 1930's slim fit. My Aero Bronco A-2 in size 44 fits slimmer than any other jacket in my closet.

Yes, just size down or go for the Eastman -- although note that the Eastman slim fit doesn't come in their most beautiful hide, the Warhorse.

This is my Aero Bronco A-2 in size 44 that I wouldn't want any slimmer anywhere.
Below is a G&B historic Type A-2 Mark 31 in size 40T that fits one size larger than my Aero Bronco A-2 in size 44. Go figure. [huh]
Nice A2's, in my opinion the G&B is a much better fit. The Aero looks a size too small.
The G&B feels like an absolutely perfect fit, although the Aero Bronco does not feel too tight at any point, even when fully zipped. Most times I only zip up a jacket halfway as in the bottom picture. The pit-to-pit measurement for the Aero Bronco is 23.5" and is 24.5" for the G&B. The G&B jacket doesn't run big; it is just labeled big.

I do need that Bronco
John Chapman will do also your A-2 in exact the style you are looking for. My G.W. A-2 fits really perfect - I also wanted a slimmer fit, because I am tall and slim figured, but sizing down with non-customized jackets always had a bad effect on the arm-length, of course.
