Although the only reason I got HBO in the first place was because of this show , I also like Vikings on The History channel and have never missed a show and have already bought season one on DVD of Vikings.

That being said, I am really pissed that they are ending Boardwalk it was my favorite show , and I dont understand why they would cancel it as they had plenty of storyline left ,it could have gone in many directions .

As so smartly pointed out by Wise hatter ,shows like that have to keep getting new viewers on board , I did not start watching it till the end of season three , so I had to go on line to HBO GO and watch all the storyline from the very first show so as to get up to speed and so that when watcxhing the new shows I understood the plots and storyline.

Also as another member pointed out it takes big bucks to do shows like that but what I dont understand is that they already have alot invested ,so why throw it all away when your that far into it in regards to capitol ?

Does anyone know the start date for this last season ?
I heard somewhere around September , but would like to know the exact date .

I know another reason why Fashion Frank's sad to see Boardwalk go. He looks like he just stepped off the set in a lot of the pics I've seen of him since he's been here. Guys got great style!

Minor spoiler: I don't think it's been mentioned here yet that there is allegedly a six-year time jump between the last and next seasons. That would be 1931, an important year in organized crime history. I suspect that the series always planned to end up there in its final season... but they hoped to spend a couple of seasons in the later twenties first.

I dunno, the show's had a pretty healthy run. It's not like it was canceled after one or two seasons and hadn't even hit its stride. And while the eight episodes are a drag, at least it's not another split-season with a year wait between a la Mad Men. Now THAT'S upsetting!
