'1940's' themed 90th birthday party

My good lady's grandmother recently turned 90 so we had a 1940's themed birthday for her in the local community centre-which was built itself between the wars.
Situated in Old Whittington next to 'The Revolution House' it was a very nice day with over 90 people attending many dressed in 1940's/50's style some in original clothing.
Interesting to note that the little old lady who was 90 was in fact a mobile crane driver during WW2 when her husband had gone off to fight all over Europe and just when he thought he was coming home he was shipped off to Palestine not returning home until 1949.

excuse my demeanour I was it has to be said a little tipsy and very hot as tweed suits and 29 degree heat don't mix too well hence the collar!
