Ciao a tutti,

Figured I'd post some picks of my new Custom Hide 1945 briefcase, in case anyone is interested in ordering from them. Very happy with the finished product, would heartily recommend.

I'd been on the hunt for ages for a proper retro briefcase. A lot of the vintage pieces I'd seen were either too small or in dreadful condition, so new was the only option.

In perusing the form (again ages ago) I stumbled across a thread where someone (Sergei?) had posted pics of their Army briefcase from the '40s. That was exactly what I was after.

Luckily, Custom Hide had already been producing this model for some time, so all I needed to do was place my order.

The process was simple, merely told them what I wanted and paid. At one point soon after the order was submitted I needed to add something, and Custom Hide's customer service couldn't have made it easier.

The briefcase itself is rock solid, weighty and rather stiff - to be expected. However, not only does it look great but it smells divine.

It isn't lined - no idea if the original was lined - but it is roomy enough for me. Some people might find it a bit narrow/shallow, but it is enough to hold my MacBook Pro, iPad, assorted chargers, documents and a magazine in the back pocket.

I find the shoulder strap to be fine, and it is rather comfortable in spite of the boxy shape of the bag.

I ordered the simple "brown" option, with my initials embossed.
